Sonya Klopfer Dunfield, a U.S. champion, two-time World medalist and Olympian in the early 1950s, passed away Aug. 7, 2025. She was 90.

RIP. I didn't realize Dorothy Hamill took from her. Was she one of Dorothy's very early (formative years) coaches? Or after she turned pro? I remember that Yuka went to her at one point. And of course her and her husband sharing the K/C with Elizabeth Manley in Calgary. Weren't they the coaches that resurrected her career in the early 80s when Elizabeth had her major slump? Surprised she was inducted to USFS HOF in 2009 though. What took them so long?!?!
