Skate Canada passed a new 'rule' for the draw for the Senior Free Programs (at the request of TV from what I've heard). Here's the way it will go:
Final Flight draw:
The top 3 skaters/teams after the short program or OD (combined results from CD/OD) will draw for the final 3 start positions and the rest of the final flight will draw for the rest of the positions.
Here's an example using the Ladies:
Joannie, Lesley & Mira were 1,2,3, therefore they drew for start #'s 16, 17, 18
Myriane, Cynthia & Meagan were 4,5,6, so they drew for start #'s 13,14,15
The rest draw within their group just like they used to
With the pairs, because there's only 4 in the final flight, the 4th placed team will skate 1st and the 1,2,3 teams draw for the last 3 start #'s
Is that as clear as mud????
