Vanessa James & Morgan Cipres

YES!! They were amazing and they got their Worlds medal, finally!! :hap85::yes2:

A bronze medal! I'm so thrilled for them. Even with a fall, they were absolutely blazing through that, you could see it even with the shoddy camerawork, and nobody can carp about any of the judging calls today either.

I haven't found a video yet but will keep my eye out. We might have to wait a few days though.

Still: :yahoo: :hap10: :hap93: :points:

Watch it before YouTube takes it down. Vanessa is so tough. I am so proud of them!:yes2:

That was amazing! I'm so proud of all that they've accomplished in the four years since Sochi and this Bronze is the icing on the cake <3.

So happy for them! Was it me or did they get the loudest cheers too? Both after their performance and during the trophy ceremony? They really have That Factor don't they

My only "problem" with this is Vanessa's fall. I want to keep watching this performance over and over but I can't handle seeing that fall :( it looked so rough and painful, but wow is she tough.

They sure did!
Yep they have that special Je ne sais quoi. I feel like I need a movie with them playing themselves :luv17:

Yes, I was thinking about that fall... I believe it was the result of substituting the 3S for the 4S they have been performing all season, a judgment call for sure... (someone enlighten me if I am wrong). They have been used to the dynamics of the 4S all season and even tho Vanessa never landed it clean ( it was always 2-footed), she always rotated it beautifully. While I understand the change in strategy, to me, the 3S is a whole nother jump altogether... the dynamics MUST be so different from the 4S. If they had not practiced the 3S to any great degree, the change would have been difficult to perform from both Morgan's POV (the throw) and Vanessa's (the landing), turning around on a dime.. Remember the twist some month's back when Morgan set Vanessa back down on the ice just a little off kilter and she fell backward? The next twist they did in a comp, he set her down like a feather... so great to watch!!

As for their detractors, I only have this to say:
"Celui qui denigrate une chose, veut acheter!"

(Hope I said that right.....) :slink:

Yes she mentioned this in the press conference:

Thanks! Have not seen the press conference yet but will watch it later. In hindsight one wonders what would have happened if they had left it alone. She just might have done it!! Did they speculate about this at all?

I'm guessing it was agreed to go for a clean skate rather than take the risk.. She did seem a bit salty about it though, probably outvoted. Have watched her performances with Yannick and she always landed cleanly, but he's a heavy set guy & seemed more powerful.. :slink:

I need to watch the interview before asking questions...:palmf: when time and work permit. Watching so much skating these few days my butt is dragging. Appreciate your insight!!

Buoeno sera from Milano!
Just wanted to say, I didnt forget about you – but the videos I wanted to upload got banned 🤨
concerning the fall: in practice and warm-up everything was fine ...
i can only say: they are human and ice is slippery 😉

Yes I've noticed practices are usually  That's the frustrating part! But to be fair I think most of the pairs had falls or wobbles.. I screamed when she fell and nearly passed out from holding my breath for the rest! We just wish them a perfect skate always :)

A little review of their short program from Vanessa and Morgan.

http://www.passion-patinage.com/201...nalyses-des-couples-apres-le-programme-court/

Translation.

Vanessa James and Morgan Ciprès: Not a bad short program, there are some approximations but overall it was well skated, maybe better when all the jumps are completely clean, the judges appreciated after all. We've worked a lot on the levels of our elements before the Olympic Games, here all is level 4, it's going to be a success.
We knew that re-motivating ourselves after the Games would not be easy, it was really hard. What helped us were those two exhibition galas at Grenoble and Clermont-Ferrand organized by the fédération, it slowly got us back into the swing of things. After that, we returned in Florida to train.

Morgan Ciprès: On a lift, I twisted my neck, it hurt, I couldn't move my head at all! It got better, but back in training in Florida, it happened again, I couldn't even sleep. I really want to thank Tim Bain, he's the doctor of the Tampa Bay Lightning, he came to help me, treat me, I received an anti-inflammatory injection. He's used to treat athletes like me! Thanks to him, I was able to gain some of my mobility back and get back on the ice.

Vanessa James: For ten days, I was training by myself, it was a little while! We didn't skate the short program for about a week, but today, after everything, we did all right.
