Yulia Lipnitskaya

I don't want to raise the idea of a conspiracy but I can't help thinking that the "big plan" have begun when the FED forced Yulia's staff to change the FP. There was no reason and she openly said she liked it. And after a stressful season and some other problems (injury, boot etc..) you only need something you like and you can skate without worries. But they made the situation even more complicated and also forced her to skate for unnecessary standings reason (Adelina didn't need standing points?). The reason? I don't know... Maybe they weren't happy because after Sochi Adelina was the skater the whole world "hated" while Yulia was the little girl everyone loved. And maybe they couldn't stand an "external" girl to have all the attention and love.

Some posts I read here, with a comparison of Russian skaters' best scores during the season, are better than 10,000 words. The FED hit where they had the overall control over points. It's really inexplicable since no one did a splat fest and no one, on the other hand, did a sumptuous performance that could justify the score (they were all very concentrated and no one delivered a flawless performance).

Well.... maybe I'm exaggerated and, as well as Yulia, I need a break, enjoy the rest of the season and wait for her return. In the meanwhile I wish her all the best for school, happiness and health *hugs* I'm sure we'll always support her and every decision she'll do in the future.

I'm seriously going to explode of nervousness about the free Program at the nationals today. I really hope Yulia skates a clean program because she is just sooo good when she is on. I really hope and believe she skates clean today although I have doubts I'm still believing!! About the scores for the girls short program - they are way off and Yulia is being underscored a bit even though she had a bit of a rough landings and not only at the nationals but the other GP competitions too. I really hope she can pull herself together!!!

Adelina better stay silent for a while, and if she wants to speak speak for herself.

Sorry but I think Adelina is only the second victim here. They told her to say this, exactly during this time, because they (big fat important powerful adults) can't expose themselves too much. So they use her (thanks God Eteri isn't using Yulia and is speaking for herself!).

The real problem is when the man (I don't remember the name) said that Adelina has the right to participate at Euro skipping national and justified it using openly and only Yulia as the third skater who has to leave her place in the team. He didn't mention anyone else, only Yulia. That's why Eteri was so angry and that's why the whole thing... stinks!

Whatever, I don't care. She isn't stupid so better speak for yourself from now on. There is no reason to tell us how this or that skater isn't strong and bla bla bla. We get it, also the PCS got that message. :sarcasm:
Eteri isn't using Yulia, but even if she wanted to she can't. That's a huge difference and I'm proud of her.

Truth be told, he's was talking about Yulia because he was asked specifically about her. Lakernik - "no one's safe, deal with it"; the journalist - "even Lip?"; L. - "yep".
Just for the record.

Anyway, I feel for her. Hope she'll manage to skate well. :cheer2:

Welcome Stunningly Unique!! :)

@all regarding conspiracy:

Just to play devils advocate here ( ;) )is it possible the fed is actually protecting Yulia from further damage by keeping her from competing this season? Sure if she goes to Worlds or even Euros she could pick up some points for world rankings but at what expense? The judges impressions may be hurt in the long run if she has more bad skates as opposed to her sacrificing a few points by not competing and starting the next season fresh where she can build up her scores again and have a less damaged....on the big stage...reputation. Food for thought and just an alternate possibility. I'm afraid unless Eteri decides to post here, which is possible since she speaks English :slink: , we will likely never know for sure what is actually going down.

In the end this is a business after all and if Yulia actually skated well the fed knows how valuable she is. But first things first.....she needs to skate well before anything else can fall in place.

This drama surely is helping with the ratings I'm quite certain.

There is no big conspiracy. I said it before, once Yulia's form starts improving (ie clean or near clean LP), then she will be back in favour with Rus Fed again. The media developments leading up to this event was all about hype and adding some spice to make headlines. Why was Yulia's name brought up more often than let's say Anna's? Because she is far more famous. It's not personal.

Oh thanks I'm new here and I'm a huge fan of Yulia, and (Yuzuru (Ship them ))

I believe she needs a break because she is changing, and you can clearly see it in this season. Her body is changing, I wouldn't say she has gone up in weight but her body is becoming bigger because obviously she is changing to an adult body. And as much as I love her, her axel jump is just horrible and btw does anyone know why she changed boot?? I don't know what's happening to her this season tbh. Her struggle is in the free basically, the free is obviously a bit more challenging than the short but she has skated clean short programs all season but trubbly on the free. I believe it can be mentally and body transforming but how can she have skated clean all the short programs this season and bad when it comes to the free. Can someone explain??

Her body is much smaller than Radionova.

No, they are not protecting her. Their treatment was like....put whatever word you want there.
Her reputation will suffer no matter what, much more so when you are out of the national team.

Yulia getting protection from RF, you just have killed me with this speculation. Clearly #1 joke of the week, lol! My only hope that they wouldn't ruin her is that thanks to the OG, Yulia has stolen the hearts of normal Russians, they will give her the will and the strength to survive.

...
No matter what happens tomorrow her fans will still love her and it will drive the RF nuts. I know I will:yes: Are you with me?
I am with you Sam.
(Sorry to everybody for the late response, I was in rural countryside the past few days)

Okay buch comment on the ladies topic deserves a mention here.

There will be perfect flip,
they're gonna make the clip,
out of this, she'll never let it slip,
away from her, so please don't fall asleep,
it's time to watch The Lip!!!:cheer:

Adelina get's it:

I think this "disastrous" season is a necessary evil. Actual skating aside, she just got too famous too fast. It's clearly messing with her confidence, and causing her to set unrealistic expectations for herself. Nowadays if she isn't the gold medalist she's no good in the eyes of critics and those always looking for the next big thing behind the scenes. Sometimes I feel like the haters are actually Yulia's biggest fans, because they always seem to have the underlying belief that she is constantly the one to beat for gold. Weird. As a fan, I feel a bit guilty for not caring about Yulia's placements as much as they do. Yeah, not really.

I truly believe everything will be fine though. I mean Julia isn't the best when it comes to media relations, let's be honest here; she just doesn't thrive under that kind of attention. Let that light shine brighter on those who are elevated by it (Elena, Alena, Adelina, etc) so that Yulia can escape from all the scrutiny for a while. Win win situation for all. Yulia is such a rare treasure, a talent for the ages. It'd be such a shame if looking back, she let this brief downturn in her career break her spirit. It is a difficult transition of course, now carrying the expectations placed on an Olympic champion on her slight shoulders, but I believe she can get through it. I don't think Yulia actually realizes how much she's already accomplished, and what she is capable of accomplishing. When she does, maybe that'll give her the boost she needs right now. Give it some time. And who knows? Yulia is definitely not perfect, but she isn't done developing either. A slower, gradual refinement may be exactly what Yulia needs to reach her full potential, especially since she has already given so much for her age!

Well said.:agree: Well said.:agree: I hope Yulia will get your message.

She actually fell two times. Got 102.something points and is currently in 7th place and she was crying..........someone please kill me this is too painful. Elena is going to win and Elizaveta is going to take silver
