Yulia Lipnitskaya

You are very deeply dug in their questions. Don't see an exact answer. And Eteri and Julia closed enough people. This information is available only on some parts. And this information is often confusing. The rest can only guess. But to cover as a whole is still possible and it turns out that, most likely, all this takes place in varying degrees.
As for criticism Eteri, what is amazing? she heads the team! Was a huge success and were celebrating. Against this background, the criticism was not perceived. And now a huge failure.
It is clear that to solve the problems we need to do something specific, but what exactly? No one answers this question. So go talk about the change of coach.

That, and perhaps student load, is the only reasonable basis for complaints about Eteri that I can think of. Alba thinks Yulia will make the decisions, if so the outcome may tell us as much about yulia as it does about Eteri. Eteri has been perfect for Yulia until this year. By all reports Yulia did well in practice, her problems surfaced in competitions. This would make coaching next to impossible. Eteri's bond with Yulia doesn't make this any easier.

Some insider from the Russian Tulup forums says that Yulya has already left and that the name of her potential new coach is already know in the "inner circle". Still nothing official though, just rumors.

Oh, gosh :drama::drama:

I hope that we are going to have news quickly, I am very curious ....

What? Is this insider reliable, and if so, do we already have the coach's name?
From what I can gather, that insider is some skater's parent. So not all that reliable, but not a totally random person either. No names though. So still very much a rumor. But I have to admit I love all this drama

Whatever will happen I hope it's her choice.

I agree that ideally it should be her choice but if she continues to be funded by the fed she is going to have to accept what they decide. Maybe a new coach can help her fix her jump issues..edges and all. To me it's clear that she can perform the program and portray her role. Take a gander at any if the pictures on her fan page from Romeo and Juliet. There is always something beautiful inside ready to burst out. No coach can change this. Every issue this year was was psychologically related to confidence in her jumps. Maybe a new coach can bring her back....maybe not. I'm not overly attached to anyone except her.

I fully agree with this.

I don't think there are any chances she's going to Mishin's new school, but it would do wonders for her jump technique

What are some good coaches in Moscow that would help Yulia fix her physical issues? I am afraid I only know Inna, Eteri and Mishin :slink:

With all due respect for Mishin, and I like him for all he's done for this sport, I don't want her to go with him. In terms of musicality, choreo, I don't like his skaters in general.

And I tend to agree with you here. Funny thing is...I work with someone who was coached by Mishin in the 90's :slink:

Somewhere in the forum there was a link to an interview where Mishin expressed his preference of working with men over ladies. IIRC he said something to the effect that ladies are more delicate to handle. So I do not believe he would accept Julia, especially in her current crisis and with her strong-headed attitude.

What's the strong head attitude? You mean have a strong personality and character, have your own opinions?
Long live the strong headed.
As for Mishin, I don't think she is even thinking about him. So both are happy.

Yes, that's what I meant. If the wording was incorrect, my apologies!

 I'm not sure in english since it's not my first language. In italian sometimes stron-headed attitude means also a headcase. It depends from the context. :)

Mishin likes students with strong jumping ability, the like of Plushy and Liza. And Yulia is mote lyrical. For sure both of them have never thought of each other. No worry.

The sad thing is someone like Mishin could have a good effect on Julia, and not only because of the jumps. Think about Liza, many people had already written her off, expecting she would be outstripped by the younger skaters. Mishin believed in her and stuck to her despite advice from others. And now she recovered brilliantly and is one step away of becoming the new number one lady of figure skating. This is the kind of coach that Julia needs, someone with knowledge and authority who believes in her and can calm her down and guide her through the crisis to become stronger than ever.
