Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

Anyone who are cop expert could tell me to avoid Zayak's rule, what will be Yuzu's option if he triple his second quad toe?

The point is we haven't known for sure about Yuzuru's layout for LP. He might go for 3 quads, but he might go for 2 quads only (according to the summarized article). But anyways, the interview was taken in August so we don't know his success rate of doing 3 quads. He might change his layout completely.

We don't know his FS yet, but I believe the first half would be the same (4S, 4T, 3F). And in this case, Yuzuru doesn't have to change anything, because with 3T2T or 3T instead of 4T2T he repeats only two triples (3A and 3T).

This layout is more dangerous even without 3T instead of 4T.
I'm afraid after 4T2T Yuzuru would be more tired than usual, so he may stumble on the first 3A combo:

3A in place of 3T3T - > then he has to jump any 3A combo or 2A.
Of course, it hits his BV (

He only really has to remember to only do two 2t for combo. Ie 3a2t and 2t on another jump. Thats pretty easy since hes doing loop sal combo.
If he accidently does 3t3t , then he just has to go through rest of program as planned.
Actually last season was more tricky, if he tripled 4t then, and forgot and did 3a3t, he would have had to change last lutz to 2a. Same for 4s if he didnt take out the loopsal combo and to 2t 2t instead. This season is more tricky, if he triples 4s since he cant repeat 2t more than twice to do that. He has to leave out the loop sal combo and do lo combo or a 2t instead(and remembering only two 2ts, ie if he only does 3a2t and 4t2t he has to do 3t (third times the charm?)or 1lo). Or he can leave the combo on the table like artur had to do. He could also replace one 4t or 3a with 2a but thats unlikely

Eta this is assuming he plans 4t3t if he can, then 3a2t or if he cant then 4t2t 3a3t
And assuming he cant 2Lo
Tldr 4s tripling is probably more of a problem than 4 tripling. Doubling 4t he just has to make sure to get a 3t off somewhere.

Or some combination of the same jumps listed. Then Hanyu has no problems if he triples any of his planned 4Ts as long as he performs the rest of his program to plan. Since the 4T is what he plans on repeating and he only does 1 3T anyways there is no problem.

Your first two layouts are essentially the same in regards to the Zayak rule and would not change the way the Zayak rule would affect Hanyu's program if he tripled a planned 4T and performed everything else perfectly.
The third layout may occur if Hanyu messes up, but I don't think he would plan that since it omits a 3 jump combo.

The Zayak rule with the doubles is similar to the Zayak for the 2A. It's just you can't repeat a set of doubles more than two times and does not affect the 2 set of triples or quads you can repeat. So him doing a 4T+2T and a 3A+2T will not nullify any combo jump as long as he doesn't perform a third 2T.
An example would be Nam's FS protocol from SA.

For this one I assume you mean 3A-3T. Even if his second 3A is not in combo, he would not have to change it to a 2A to avoid getting the jump nullified. He'll just get hit with a sequence penalty, and correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that the 3A with the sequence penalty also ticks off one of his 3 allowed combos.

Yups! The only time he Zayaked was at CoR 2010 FS in his debut year. I am shocked at how well he sticks to his planned elements and how fast he thinks on his feet. It's like he is a robot

Are you giving examples of the points he might get bc I am confused with all the numbers you stated. The base value of a 3f is 5.3 and getting an e call makes it 3.71. Are you factoring in goe with your numbers already? So for best case with an unclear call are you assuming judges give him some +goe still?

Yeah that's what I was thinking in the case that he misses his first 3A combo like you said and if he still does a 3A no combo. Because even if he is in this scenario he isn't in danger of Zayaking if he continues with content you suggested in your third layout. However, adding a combo on the lutz or loop will not avoid the seq. penalty on the 3A though but it would get him 3 combos again since he planned the 3A in combo twice.

I don't think we have to worry about Hanyu too much though. This guy only Zayaked once as a senior! He's really fast on his feet and personally, I think it shows he has a good understanding of the system - at least the jumping part of the system
Now if only Hanyu could give some tips to Javi

I went to the "YUZURU" photo exhibition early this week, it was absolutely fantastic!
This is how the entrance looks like.

Not a big exhibition space actually

I went there on Monday during working hours, but still there are always more than 20 people in the room (after 6pm when people finish work there are always more than 30 people, I think), most of which are ladies (from school girls to elder ladies) with 2 or 3 men. Besides Yuzuru fans, there were also many general visitors who didn't know about the event but were attracted by the photo outside.

I roughly counted about 50 photos on exhibition, the earliest one being 2007 Japan Jr. Nationals. They are all large, but some are larger than the others, each of which covers a whole board, including Hello I Love You from THE ICE 2012, Ina Bauer during OG practice, White Legend and Finale from TOI, parade in Sendai, and latest off-ice scenes from Toronto, individual and with Brian. You can have a clear look at the details of the costumes, his facial expressions, body movements, etc, so it is really stunning. Noto-san said his favorite shot is the one he took right before Yuzuru went on the ice for the first time after the big earthquake at the charity show in Kobe, I was deeply moved by this photo as well, because I believe I really saw the tears in his eyes even though he was looking up. Really really a wonderful event, thank you Noto-san!

That middle photo when he thought that he has lost the gold...I just don't know how to explain my feelings of it.
