Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

That was one insane performance! Very inspirational. He looks happy during the whole final, that's what all we can ask for.:) So happy for him to finally able to put everything together back again. Totally on different level.

Translation: Today Yuzuru has silenced the skeptics , although skeptics should concern themselves with other things. For example there is marbles, bowling, horse riding, all beautiful, but not figure skating. Those who criticise Hanyu understands nothing about this sport.
Welcome to Hanuyu planet. Population one: HIM!

 I adore them. :laugh2:

OMG what's this

I have never seen Yuzuru this happy before, and also never this close with Orser. I always feel like there's this distance between them whenever they're together at the K&C, normally it would be a quick hug when Yuzuru is getting off the rink and a handshake and nod when scores are shown, but this time he didn't hesitate to hug Orser (and I think it kinda threw him off a bit, but in a good way :o:). Congrats to the boy! (or should I say young man lol)

Just going to leave this picture here
It gave me a good laugh and a shout out to those who know what characters are being portrayed here lol

Wow it was simply awesome! Those of us who were there have no words to describe it. Yuzu is just incredible, his jumps are out of this world, they are so beautiful. His speed across the ice is amazing and his skatings skills are so much better than last year at TEB when I saw him back to back with Patrick. This was almost a world record, maybe it would have been without the fall. I was in the audience when Patrick set that record and I have to say that nothing compares to the emotion that Yuzu gave us tonight. He has such a presence, even when he slows down or just move his hands, you cannot take your eyes off him because he's simply that great. My cousin, who had never watched a whole figure skating competition and didn't even know most of the skaters, kept saying to me "this is incredible, this boy is in a completely different level". And the crowd was so supportive! I guess everybody loves Yuzu. You have to be a hater or a fool not to love him. I can die happy now

Thanks for sharing Alba. Yes, Yuzuru at times seems out of this world (and in his own world. ;)). I feel that God has given him both great gifts and at the same time great challenges. And he has done well with both serving as an inspiration to so many, including this fan auntie. :)

When he hits this quad sal right it looks superb really

Many pages past, I posted that I think he will "own" the quad salchow this season. If he hits it at Japanese Nationals and Worlds, I may still be proven right. ;)

Ooooh my God (today I became way more Christian than I've ever been) I so didn't see that coming but I can't tell you how happy I am, not just for him. We had such an insane party mood going on in our block during the medal ceremony, it was too awesome. He was so so so so SO HAPPY, it was just too much. And when Javier got onto the podium Yuzuru started to encourage the crowd to cheer even louder, when people already were cheering like crazy! That was pretty much the point that sealed my never-ending  for this guy, I'm not even kidding, I might never ever get over this. So so so happy that I've been here tonight, this is just too crazy.

:)

I have no words for how I feel, so I defer to Pamina's wisdom and writing, she said it all.
I have never seen Yuzuru so happy, and that made me the happiest I can possibly be. When he encouraged the crowd to cheer even louder for Fernandez, I Fell In Love with Hanyu. That was the sweetest thing ever and it showed such joy and love.

I cannot believe what I was witness to tonight, taking place meters away from me. I literally saw Hanyu gasp for breath at some point and just knew he was gonna fall, but also knew it wouldn't matter anymore because he was already miles ahead.

I feel so happy and so lucky, and I cried a few tears tonight.

Pamina and Winnie_20, thanks for sharing your personal experience at the GPF. How well it has ended for Yuzuru and us his fans, to see him revealed not just to be a great skater but also to be a great person. Joy and love indeed!

Happy for those of you who got to witness this first hand!! Seems like an experience that you'll remember for the rest of your life! And I was thinking exactly the same thing: the fall gave him something to work on for the Nationals.

So do we think the problem is with the 3lz or just with his overall stamina?? If it is already not his best jump, does it make sense for him to exchange it with another triple earlier in the program??

And I can't wait for the gala tomorrow! Hoping that it'll be streamed live too. I think he might wear that pale-blue flowery number and do something other than hana wa saku.

I think it's his stamina; he was off ice 10 days and injured, that would have panned his stamina; I think he said it himself.

He hit all his Lutzes last season with basically the same program

there is of course the lean problem; but he's been able to save it before

Fact is he could have just not done the last Lutz entirely, or done a 2A. Then he would had clean program whopee:rolleye:; but I love him because I know he will always go for it.

As for exchanging it, even last season he had the Lo before the Lutzes, and this season too, which makes me think the Lo might get URs in training; and he did UR at CoC though that was obviously extenuating circumstances. Pure speculation though.

I hope to see him at World's 2016 in Boston! I can't imagine seeing him live!:cheer::bow:

I was so happy seeing happy Yuzuru skating across the rink. I think we all felt his love for figure skating :o:

Orser said in the interview with Weekly Gendai;

"Yuzuru clearly told me that he wanted another Olympic gold medal. Not a few skaters lose their motivation after winning the Olympics. Yuna Kim seemed to have lost her passion for skating after Vancouver, and I'm afraid she skated rather obligatorily thereafter. But this does not apply to Yuzuru. He is still enthusiastic over skating with so much love for it. That attitude of his may be attracting people including me." (Please note this is my summarized translation from the article in Japanese, not the original English.)

I'm also happy as Shoma won the gold medal of JGPF, and Sota in the second place. Yuzuru seemed being impressed by them as Sota did perfect in SP and so did Shoma in LP, and said "I am happy with new rivals emerged. I should try harder."

Japanese nationals is coming near. The most fierce nationals in the world, I think, especially for mens skaters. I am sure Machida and Mura will be back to their good form by then. Only three of them can go to the Worlds :drama:
But the same for Russian girls :jaw:

EDIT: After the press conference of SP, there was a significant crowd outside the hall waiting. A staff member approached him and said, "There is a secret passageway. Would you like to use it?"
Yuzuru shouted "Oh, this is just like NARUTO !!" So cute. :laugh2:

it will be broadcast in the evening...and links will be posted here no doubt.

I have a REQUEST...I'd LOVE to hear what the other commentators in Europe said about Hanyu's skate. If anyone could translate Raisport or other channel's commentary I'd be so grateful.
When the Japanese broadcast is out, I'd be happy to translate it to English. That is, if someone doesn't do it first.

Thanks so much in advance.

It's just out of this world that Yuzu skated SO exceptionally in this GPF, I'm beyond happy for him! I guess we'll be celebrating for weeks after this, Also, I'm really happy for Javier too! Both of them deserve to be on the podium together and may this celebration last!

Yuzuru made an amazing comeback and the scores are crazy too! Another thing is how I could actually partly understand his English in the interview, congrats for nailing an English interview.

I don't know where to go find the content, but if anyone comes across German commentary or articles I'll gladly translate. I'll dig a bit also, but can't promise XD

Yes I would also love to hear what other commentators said about Yuzuru! But lol the only thing I can translate would be chinese commentary which probably isn't that easy to find

Those who have watched the event live were the most lucky ones in the world.

I am sure they will be the most boring commentaries of all (unless it’s Nobu or Akiko) :laugh2:
