I don't "hold him up" that much .. In the sense that I think that depending on how Yuzuru skates there are a bunch of skaters that can certainly beat Yuzuru, any top skater actually, I especially look forward to Denis Ten at worlds (I was about to say Machida but

I wanted Tatsuki to finally win gold, lord) and in 1 or 2 years, or even less, skaters that recently turned seniors too and juniors, especially Shoma, which seems to be the most refined and consistent of the juniors right now, especially with Yuzuru's almost permanent issues at the free program, he isn't flaw free in this regard. Did anyone forget that Yuzuru came out of basically
nowhere to rise up the ranks in what, 2 years? Also, Chan acquired his quads at the age of 19, so skaters that looks right now less "intimidating" can rise too, of course Chan was in a different time etc, but just to show that one can up their technical content like that, Shoma gained consistency in his 4T and 3A by the time of one season only. But maybe I think this because I don't care much about his placements

I think we shouldn't expect that he will win everything. After all, he came in 4th at NHK trophy didn't he? What I think is that the way his PCS is currently going there's no way that he would skate clean programs and not possibly win, whether people agree with it or not. I don't have too much faith in Boyang, especially because skating isn't only about jumps, one can arguee about that of course because the prime factor that separates top skaters and other skaters is the technical content and jumps contributes the most for it. However there's a reason of why Boyang is 18 , I think (?) and is still at the junior circuit, even if he improved a lot, the quality of his skating and presentation isn't very exceptional, having 1 or 3 quads doesn't change this, especially when you're from a smaller federation like China's. I'm not a fan but Shoma is the best of the youngest for me. He doesn't enchantes me yet but, heck, I think in presentation he's better than a lot top skaters actually, he just needs to build his senior career and make some splash.
