Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

I watch Yuzuru 's competitions since Worlds 2012 and I watch him grow and become stronger and better day after day. Everyone who love his performances and his power on and off the ice must support him no matter what he does. I know he will do his best but his health is the most important thing now. With modesty, he said before that now is what it is, not only with his fight but with all the support of the world. He need support now more than ever.
Don' t let him down ! Go Yuzuru ! All the best for you !

Welcome :cheer: great post!

I found this fun to watch.
Not sure if it's been posted here....

Didn't see that one coming :laugh2:
(I'm not even sure why I find that so funny)

Hehe when I first saw that move at 2013 Finlandia, I thought he had a wardrobe malfunction. Apparently the move was designed to make him appear more sexy? It did elicit a "Mmm" from Sir Robin Cousins in the Olympics. ;)

Would like to thank all those who posted "calming" posts. What Yuzuru needs from us right now is positive energy and prayers. Knowing him, he will strive to do his best no matter how dire the circumstances. And that is the most we can ask from anyone, including ourselves.

Continuing the guessing game (great idea Alia!), two questions: first, do Yuzuru's parents skate? and second, what reason did his mother give for accompanying him in Toronto?

Hi Everyone! I just wanted to say hello to you all! I've kinda been lurking for a while haha so I thought it was about time to post. I've been a fan of Yuzuru and fs for quite some time now and I'm looking forward to talking to you all in the future :)

I know his parents don't skate, but I don't know the answer to your second question...

Can we talk about his newest CM contract too?? How many of you think he would be the one in the bathtub? Or maybe he is just going to be the Yuzu-fairy like in the gum commercial??

His mother Yumi said she went to Canada with him to take care of him. She said without her, he will starve because he doesn't know how to cook. He dislikes eating out.

Re your query, I prefer him in the bath tub so it will really be a Yuzu bath with a capital Y! ;) This scenario will also avoid having him wear a costume like the Xylitol one. :hopelessness:

I saw in some interviews Yuzuru said that Yumi also played video games with him. Great respect to the mother.

I hate eating out as well. Away from the comfort of home....unless I'm with friends. Family...different story.

Welcome. Yuzuru is very blessed with so many supportive fans.

I would love to see him in bathtub if he were healthy as hell.
but I now don’t. I think it’s not good to soak the operation trace of his abdomen in warm water for a long time. (I know it sounds like a worrying mother )

Knowing him to be a video games lover, I remember the funny moment of a young boy Yuzu, in ICE 2012, While team Japan were playing a video game together,
He shouted by very fast talking when he saw Mao lost the game against Kanako, he said “Sanbonshoubu, Sanbonshoubu, Sanbonshoubudakara (it’s a three-game match)” lolol
He is going to be so eager when it comes to video games :laugh2:

Hey everyone:

Here is my latest blog entry. Here are my thoughts on the current men's field. I plan to update this particular blog entry each year and for fun, see how much my own opinion changes as skaters progress over the next few years leading up to 2018 Pyeongchang! Hope you enjoy.

I enjoy your blogs a lot. By the way, is there a typo in this sentence “I think Shoma is a little bit star struck around Yuzu but who can blame him”? You wrote this in the Sota Yamamoto’s paragraph. So maybe you mean Sota?

I think Yuzuru’s main competitions in 2018 are most likely skaters in his age group (19-21), like Denis Ten, Joshua Farris, Han Yan and Kovtun. If they improve and gains consistency, they will pose a challenge to Yuzuru.

Patrick and Javi may be too old to keep up with the technical demand by 2018.

I feel none of the current juniors or the juniors that just moved up to seniors has the technical prowess to challenge the senior skaters. Since the juniors are not likely to get very high PCS, they need to rely on the technical scores. Unless they are prodigies like Yuzuru and Plushenko, I think the possibility of them catching up to Yuzuru by 2018 is pretty small. But you never know. Out of the current juniors, I think Shoma and Jin Boyang probably have a bigger chance to catch up in 3 years.

My 2 cents.
