This just shows how the quality of the same skill can be perceived differently by different people. I personally don't see how Patrick's SS is much better than Yuzu. For me, Yuzu has the most natural skating skill out of all the skaters. COP encourages difficulty. Yuzu will get higher PCS than Patrick when he skates a more difficult program well. (I mean the 3 quad LP)

i am probably reaching but J. Buttle tweeted that he will start choreographing a program for " a long time friend ", music will probably be Franz Liszt: Liebestraum No. 3, you think any possibility that its for yuzuru??i know he is probably busy for WTT and it seems like piano music again but still
if its not yuzuru then who can he/she be??

I don´t think is for Yuzuru, it sound like a more mature skater, maybe Shizuka or Takahashi
I personally wouldn't complain if he would have LP to that, after seeing his Chopin this season

I really believe that this silver is an important silver in terms of his skating career, probably will be more so than if it had been a gold.

If it’s not for Yuzuru probably he will be there in Japan for Mao.
But as for the music choice, she has already the program with the music choreographed by Lori Nichol. Or it’s just she’s going to use the music piece with Jeff’s choreography again and then it's for ice shows such as The Ice. But that will be held from July 22 so it’s too early to do it I think.
but still the music “Liebestraum” is very Mao.
Or it’s gonna be another music choice from Liszt using for Yuzuru?

:agree: This silver will do infinetly more good for him than if he had won the championships either with rotated-but-not-landed quad or with two perfect clean skates. It will fuel his aspirations for next season, instruct him on how to handle his health by knowing when his body is saying 'no' (see sprained ankle), and also show him that in order to win without a doubt he needs to skate his absolute best, a perception that in the long run can only strengthen a skater.

Hope he'll really learn not to rush things too much to the extent that it'd detriment his own body from the terrible season he had and discover that health is absolutely the most important asset ALONG WITH ss and difficulty etc! You definitely need good health or at least a generally healthy body to execute difficult programs with quality!
Doesn't depend on 3 quads. If Yuzu is on, with speed and flow he will get the same components, as Patrick.
Their SS too different to compare lightness vs power, but both very admirable.
And speaking about Yuzu's next programs-couple of days ago I was thinking about how great it would be, if Yuzu skated Totentanz for SP and Liebestraumen for LP. Total killer. )))
And Jeff being choreographer of both programs plus Ex.

I don't think he will try that. And honestly he has done a piano SP this season I highly doubt that he will go for 2 piano next season.
It's so clear that Jeff is in Japan not for Yuzuru (or at least I am 80% sure of it) since Yuzuru is preparing for WTT.

Skating skills are pretty objective and IMO Hanyu and Chan will only deserve to get similar components if Chan makes a few more mistakes than him unless 1) Hanyu keeps improving, which is likely or 2) Hanyu maintains his current level of SS and gets some amazing once-in-a-million programs that annihilate the competition :yay: There are both aspects of their skating that are extremely strong and comparable: speed, acceleration with few crossovers, rhythmic and deep knee action, and great flow, but Chan is still a bit better in multi-directional skating, depth/sureness of edge, skating on all levels, and maintaining speed through his footwork and until the end of his LP (although obviously Hanyu's stamina is not ideal this season). He's definitely much lighter than Chan's powerhouse-skates-growling-as-they-rip-through-the-ice style, but I think Hanyu still has a ways to go to get to Chan's level of mastery. Which is good! Always room to improve. Having said all that, I think Hanyu's objectively one of the top 3~top 4 in skating skills.
Totentanz would be amazing, although I think Liebestraum might be a bit too romantic for him. I would really like to see him do some Shostakovich, something a bit dark, but also quirky and offbeat.
Could he be working with J10 for an EX for WTT?

Totally agree with this. Of course if only Patrick comes back and skates to the same level that he showed at TEB 2013 or Japan Open 2014 and a healthy Yuzuru, only by that time we can make some valid comparison about their SS.
About SS, there's Jeremy/Kozuka but we all know they are super inconsistent (and honestly at this point I don't see them making big leap forward) so I don't know if we can count them in. Han Yan, if he really pays attention, can be more likely to reach Patrick'SS the most (but as my friend experienced at TEB 2013 has said he's not heading towards that direction).
Overall, at the moment I think in a field without Patrick, Yuzuru's SS is noticeable among the top, if not the top. And he is still improving. Hopefully we will see battle of great SS next season.
I think Yuzuru definitely can make great improvement with dark music.
Shostakovich sounds nice. I hope no musical again. And definitely not Les Misérables please.:hopelessness:Eh but maybe she's making some comeback? She never did justice to her Liebestraum program...But Asada's already done a Liebestraum program

Agreed. I don't think we'll see another piano program next season, Brian's strategy was to try different styles so it doesn't seem logical.
