Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

Yuzuru Hanyu and Matsuoka Shuzo live interview ( different from previous interview with Oda and Shoma)
http://seobiiiiieluv.tumblr.com/post/171062852457/kaerb-speed-translation-of-the-interview-with The post has an English translation.
Lol, Matsuoka and Yuzu are Sooooo extra together.
Just to start, the calligraphy signs that Shuzo makes are  I remember he did that at Torino too, to encourage himself because no one was getting any medals  EDIT: I read the translation wrong. The calligraphy is indeed Shuzo's
M: Today I’d like to take you on a tour. Firstly, please come here. Do-dooon. I am truly happy I think. I’ve interviewed Hanyu-senshuu for a long time and the words that left an impression not just in me but I think in the hearts of the Japanese people. Firstly this phrase ‘I want to penetrate/pierce through the present’ was the first thing you said this season.

Y: ….well… (awestruck pause) sasuga [as expected of Matsuoka]. How many did you write?!

M: Not at all, there was not enough, I had to cut down on the number!

Y: That’s amazing…so good. I’ll start from there: ‘Shuzo-san’s calligraphy is so good!’

M: No - actually we have Japan’s Tomikawa-san here. Which words struck you the most? ...

Yuzuru took a day off on Feb.19 to rest (good! but he did interview with Shuzo as Interspectator posted above ) and he is planning to skate in Gala on 25. Orser was asked if Yuzuru was able to land 4A, and he replied "Of course it is possible."

Speaking of 4A, Shizuka also says Yuzuru might be the first skater to challenge 4A in the competition, and she guesses if he starts practicing the jump, it will not take too long to master it.

Oh noooo...I've been sick while traveling and it's the worst! I don't know what your rest cure is...but do you like onsen? It really warms the body up and helps with chills. I hope you can sleep now that the intense stuff is done...or are you a fan of the ladies skating as well? Will you watch them?
Onset sounds nice! Actually last night I was in search of anything with hot hot soup but I didn’t really find what I was looking for and was too tired to keep going so I settled for Din Tai Fung since they had spinach. I did take a nice hot bath though, got about 7 hrs of sleep va my average of 5 hrs this whole trip and my zero hrs the night I flew to Japan (maybe I was still too excited from the free, plus I had to pack). I’m a fan of ladies too and my original plan was to stay in Korea to watch as well but I ended up making the trip shorter. I’ve missed a lot of the other disciplines I didn’t watch love so I’ll have to catch up when I get home!

I assume the soap roses were distributed by a rep from JSF or JOC? I believe Brian was holding a soap rose in his hand when Javi came off the ice so not sure if he handed Javi that one or Javi got another.

I think maybe is a souvenir they are selling near the arena, maybe a fan threw that one to Javier after his LP. And Yuzuru decided to give something to the volunteers and went with something that was of easy access

http://shampooneko.tumblr.com/post/171077247310/tsukihoshi14-ok-i-only-wanted-to-look-for One more interview and translation from yesterday. Yuzu talks about his road to recovery.
[at 2:00] They asked how he spent those 3 months as he didn’t release information or commented much. He said he was not in the condition to give any comment or to do anything. He felt that the time receiving treatment, rehabilitating, and especially the time not being able to skate became really long.

[at 2:25] The MC asked whether he had a serious injury that made him stay off-ice for this long, and he said yes he did as he had a lot of injuries before. But because so, he had many experiences, and this time, he studied and tried to match what he experienced in the past with the theses/papers he read....

I thought I commented on this but maybe in my sleep deprived state I didn’t actually hit post, but I did see something like those roses sold at the souvenir shop at the rink.

The Russian article by Plushenko that I posted about earlier was translated on Yuzu's Facebook Fan page.
Thanks so much to the translator! https://www.facebook.com/groups/1610393525875114/permalink/2032039947043801/
YOU NEED TO BE KILLER ON THE ICE.
I already said it three years ago in an interview, that more than anyone in current men's single figure skating I like Yuzuru Hanyu. He is the man, who can do everything on the ice.
And nothing changes after that time. Only now to his title of Olympic Champion adds one thing – Two-times (Olympic champion)! ...

I had vowed had he won, I would fast for 3 consecutive days. Two days are gone, one more to go. I'm so happy, it keeps me remembering that how high one can fly :)

wow... that's new. When Yuzu competes, I can't eat, so I've done all my fasting already! My appetite is just coming back.
