And I just realised that I forgot to re-open the Entries / Results page after restarting the computer during the resurfacing in Odessa, and discovered that the final group also only has 3 skaters left in it after withdrawals.

#18 Jade HOVINE (BEL), #19 Mikai VAN OMMEREN (NED), and #20 Minja PELTONEN (FIN) have all withdrawn.

There doesn't seem to be any absentees from the middle 2 groups, though.

I hope all these withdrawals are not a sign that there is something going on.

Right, the Junior Ice Dancers are not out for another hour and a quarter. But, the rink-side announcer said that there will be an Opening Ceremony in half an hour from now.

I can never get my head around having an Opening Ceremony after the event has already started...

Unfortunately, I will be having my tea when the Opening Ceremony is on. But, I will be back in time to see the first group of Dancers.

Before the announcer started introducing the judges, Eminem's "Without Me" was playing. And we saw 3 skaters that were in the audience run across the stands to the stairs, and start doing silly poses for the camera!

It was 2 girls and a guy. Unfortunately, I couldn't make out the writing on the team jackets. But, they were were red. Well, strictly speaking, one of the girls was wearing a red bra rather than a red jacket. But, it was in team colours! They were all wearing various types of black bottoms (hot pants, leggings and shorts).

Anyway, it was hilarious. So, if the stream doesn't get zapped, make sure to watch it.

EDIT: It was Spanish team jackets. When I went back to the archived livestream, I recognised them as Senior Pairs skater Laura Barquero (red bra and black hot pants); and my Junior Ice Dance kids Sofía Val (red jacket and black leggings) and Nikita Vitryanyuk (red jacket and black shorts).

Mmmm. The stream ended during the Warm-Up. Then, after about 20 seconds, it started again for about 10 seconds before ending again.

Thankfully, a new stream started in time for the first partnership being introduced.

It happened today again! Big cheers for Anna-Flora when she was introduced at the start of the Warm-Up!!!



Incidentally, after hearing the cheers for Anna-Flora yesterday, I started wondering how much support the French had given Leonora at Eurovision a couple of years ago.

She got 1 point in the Jury vote, and 4 points in the Public vote.

The crowd may love Anna-Flora, but she won't love that skate.

It was a real struggle. Particularly when it came to landing the jumps. She fell trying to land a jump early on in the programme. And although she did land the rest, they were not clean landings.

You could see the disappointment on her face as soon as she had finished. She did show us her beautiful smile while taking her bows, but the shoulders were down when she was heading off the ice. Unfortunately, the operator of the camera moved it to point towards the sponsors backdrop too soon, so we didn't see the initial contact between Anna-Flora and Leonora.

When they did arrive, Anna-Flora looked so depressed. They sat there for a while, and then Leonora said something and smiled, trying to lighten the atmosphere. But, it didn't work. Little sister was too upset. After another while she tried again, and this time Anna-Flora did start talking.

It did look like there might be tears, but thankfully there wasn't. Nevertheless, it was heartbreaking to watch. I just wanted to go and give Anna-Flora a big hug!

You know, this is why I am glad Leonora is working with her. Leonora knows what it is like to be a skater. She knows how it feels after a disappointing skate. But, more important than anything, she knows her sister. She's lived with Anna-Flora for years, so she knows her better than anybody else. She knows how Anna-Flora thinks, and so knows how to act in each situation.

Today may not have been Anna-Flora's day, but I know there will be good days ahead.

Beautiful as always. But, not without issues.

The first 2/3 of the programme went really well. Then we reached the Twizzles. Whereas I thought they went out of sync yesterday, and the protocols disagreed, I don't think there is any question today. They definitely went out of sync. And there was a bit of a stumble from Nikita too.

But, the drama wasn't over. During a lift shortly afterwards, Nikita nearly fell. Thankfully, he managed to stay on his feet. And I bet Sofía was glad he did!

Nevertheless, they stayed in the lead. And extended their advantage.

Czech Republic is building a tradition of nice dancing siblings coached by Matteo Zanni

Some Italian young men making their Senior international debut tomorrow. Memola did well in Linz JGP. It will be interesting if it can repeat a solid performance here.

Dupayage/Nabais are making their international senior debut. They already skated Senior at Masters where they beat Demougeot/Le Mercier. So it will be an interesting re-match here.
There will be also the debut of new couple representing Switzerland made of Jasmine Tessari and Stephane Walker.
I've never heard of the Belgian dance couple entered.
