OK, I've got fed up waiting for the stream to appear. I want to get back to my dinner. So, I'll post this now, and edit the link for the stream in when I've finished eating.

Now that the Junior competitions are complete, today is the start of the Senior competitions. And we begin with a clash, as the Senior Men's SP in Nice is starting now, while the Senior Men's SP in Odessa is due to start in 10 minutes time.

I may not be watching today, but I am so angry.

Yes, in terms of skaters that I have "adopted", they were all in the Junior competitions. And they did get streamed alright. But, there are other skaters that I like in the Senior competitions.

And with it looking like PJ is retiring, we have to make the most of all the opportunites to see him that we get!

Me neither. No livestream, no results. Got my hopes up for nothing. I was looking forward to seeing Ana & Luke in the Senior Pairs later today aswell.

To add to it all, Victor Petrenko stream is so dark and eerie, the Senior RD was unwatchable.

You know, I wonder if there has maybe been a power cut at the arena. Or internet problems. Becuase it seems too much of a coincidence that neither the stream nor the scoring is working today.

To add to it all, Victor Petrenko stream is so dark and eerie, the Senior RD was unwatchable.

Maybe the lighting in Odessa was arranged to tie in with Angelina and Ilia's gothic programme, which started the day off.

They were great. So glad I broke away from the bikes to watch them. They are really doing your homeland proud.

Ponsart won the SP with 78.23
Lewton-Brain was second with 72.48
Third place to Memola with 72.36

As for the Rhythm Dance, a couple of judges put Lopareva/Brissaud ahead of Turkilla/Versluis in PCS: Judge 2 (Slovakia) and 4 (Hungary). Rest of the panel went for the Finn couple. J3 (Finland) had Demouget/Le Mercier over Lopareva/Brissaud

Yuka Orihara / Juho Pirinen almost got a violation of choreo restrictions call. 4 judges out of 8 called for it. With 5, they would have got a deduction.

Pretty decent debut for Tessari/Walker who achieved the RD minimum for Worlds.

Finally able to watch selected performances from today. The highlight was a new name for me from Italy, Nikolaj Memola in 3rd. I'd have had him 1st just for the joy he brought, performing to Le Corsaire, he was like Nureyev at the Royal Ballet landing his jumps, including a magnificent 3A right on the beat of the music, or in this case, the crashing cymballs, with a flair! It was the kind of Short Program older fans say we don't see anymore, well we did today, and I shall be looking out for Nikolaj again, he was last of the Men to skate if you want to watch.

Earlier Ed Appleby skated really well and was underscored, landing 3A 3+3 combination and 3Lutz. He had a good Step Sequence and expression to his funky music.

Sadly PJ Hallam was disappointing with a popped Axel and popped first jump of his combination though he managed a Triple in the 2nd part. Ofcourse his presentation was affected and he scored only 53 - 20 points lower than he was looking for.

In the Pairs Anastasia Vaipan-Law & Luke Digby went for the Side by side 3Toes which was good to see. Luke landed his beautifully but Ana had a step out and hand down. She also fell badly on the 3Throw. But only their 2nd event. Good Luck to all for the FPs.

This is his first international senior competition. Maybe also overall because he did the Junior event at last Italian nationals.
He was at the Junior GP held in Austria some weeks ago and he was good there too (IIRC he finished 4th)
