2015 US Nationals Senior Ladies FS Jan 24

Well, good for Ashley. Well deserved. Gracie, for me, is still the US champ. She epitomizes the technical and artistic aspects of skating that makes her the best. Tonight belongs to Ashley but tomorrow and tomorrow is Gracie. Now Karen may be be a wild card in that equation. Polina's fairy tale performance was flat. She's lucky she's 4th.

Any word on Mirai? I'm heart broken for her...

Update, that gets lots in the rapid postings

Props to Ashley for a great skate! Score was way inflated but very deserving win.

I am gutted for Mirai, she started off so strong. And if that fluke didn't happen I think she would have done well. I hope she is ok.

Also, is it just me or did Gracie look like she was walking a little too fast out of the building (i.e. avoiding reporters)?

I thought the same. But it is understandable, she just lost her title. Nothing wrong with that.

Back to her skating, actually I think Gracie did very well after seeing Ashley's huge score. She put up such a fierece fight and didn't wilt at all.

Karen is such a talent, my jaw dropped to my chest when I saw her jumps. Plus, her spins and transitions are great as well!

Ashley was fantastic tonight. Regardless of her score, she totally deserved to win and win big!

I am hoping Mirai gets thrown the 4CC bone again. Or at least gets a Grand Prix assignment.

I like Gracie but dislike the plastic packaging Frank has been trying to cram her into. She needs more jazz and less princess. Maybe James Bond.

That's not true. She got high PCS from the judges, not their fault that she isn't that good technically.

She got what she deserved there. Don't take the infaltions here as an example.
Definitely not, but all I'm saying is that at the world championships and Olympics and gpf she deserved 130+. And yes, judges don't like her because her style doesn't fit the ," classic skater. "

Regardless it's about momentum for Ashley. Regardless of the the score, the point is this is a huge confidence boost and certainly #1 USA status coming into Worlds.

Also RE: 130+ She was close at GPF. Had she rotated the 3S in her combo, she could have got it.

US nationals is always so dramatic and fun. But I'm definitely deducting 15 scores off everyone and I'll take that as their real scores.

You can definitely do that... Then you add 15 points to all whom you're rooting for and your favorites in every competition.
