Per ISU Communication 1909, the ice dance judges will be drawn from:

AUS
AZE
CZE
EST
GER
HUN
ISR
JPN
LTU
POL
SVK
SUI
USA

No CAN, FRA

And no Russia influence at all!

There's AZE-a Russian 'loan'; ISR, known to be Russia-friendly; and EST

There is no AZE dance team and the ISR team isn't likely to make the final. Which country's teams do you think they will support?

EST might support Russian teams in return for AZE supporting the EST team.

She has been all over everywhere this year, I must say.

I would not be surprised if she were at Worlds.

The judging panel is very Euro heavy. So expect C/L, P/Z, and one of the Russians do well. But it looks like C/B's gold is sealed and delivered.

Rock Lemay of Canada is the technical specialist; Linda Leaver of USA is the tech controller; Sergei Ponomarenko is the assistant tech specialist. It is an interesting, tough panel.

I am really looking forward to seeing the Shibs. It seems like they've been on a roll in 2015, I hope they follow through with that trend. I just love their natural performance ability. So whatever the placement, not that I don't wish for a high placement, but even more so I hope they can enjoy their performances and a warm crowd reception.

GO SHIBS!! :cheer:

The panel isn't going to help C/B beat W/P. That can happen only if C/B skate much better than they have so far AND if W/P make major mistakes.

I'm just beyond happy NOT seeing Alla Shekhovtseva and Marie Bowness on the tech panel
:laugh: :laugh2::laugh2: :cheer:

Can't believe we have Canadian technical specialist again! They judged 3 out of 5 important competitions (GPF/JGPF, WJ and W). and grand prixs of SC and CoR. I think how they missed four continents and europeans should be investigated by ISU. Must be trick of USA, RUS, FRA, ITA, JPN and all other countries. Just for info Skate America's specialist is from Poland, CoC from Hungary, TEB from ITA and JPN from JPN. 4CC from ITA and Europeans from JPN by the way.

Percentage of competitions from Canadian teams judged by their own canadian tech specialists:

%75 Bent Mackeen (one JGPF, JGPF and WJ) (Junior team)
%60 Weaver/Poje (SC, GPF and Worlds)
%60 Gilles/Poirier (SC, GPF and Worlds)

Then lets look other teams.Their percentage of competitions who have tech specialist from their own counties:

%0 Yanovskaya/Mozgov (No russian specialist this year) (Junior team)
%0 Papadakis/Cizeron (No french specialist this year)
%0 Shibutanis (No american specialist this year)
%0 Ilinykh/Zhigansin (No russian specialist, not even in nationals)
%0 Chock/Bates (No american specialist this year)

I'm with you, Florentina, really looking for a strong performance by the Shibs. I am also looking for strong, independent judging. These are experienced judges and ones who seem to have built a reputation of fairness. Let the dancing begin!
