W/P looked terrible there, so at least it's justified. P/C will bounce back to take the bronze and I expect C/L to fall behind I/Z in the final standings.
Had I/Z skated earlier, I am sure they would have cracked 71 as well.

Yeah, well good luck with that. Unless I/Z did some major reworking their FD is a snoozefest. And considering how overmarked C/L were in the SD, I wouldn't be surprised to see them on the podium.

I'm a huge cheerleader of American skaters, but... I'm sorry, C/B just aren't that good. It'd be one thing if they had brilliant programs that masked their weaknesses (they don't) or if they were brilliant skaters hamstrung by weak programs (they aren't. See: Shibs), but they're just not that good.

Am I the only one who agrees with the result? :hopelessness: I thought that best PCS and a bit lower in TES (because of the twizzles) was correct for P/C

I'm with you. Well I just accept what the judges put down. They know more than us.

Plus I don't like to think about controversy.

I have to agree with this, all things considered. It's not a great DANCE, no matter how well they perform. Honestly I'd have them around 6th or so.

What I'd like to know is what shenanigans went on that an extremely overwrought C/L are in third with that PD.

Common, they did great tonight.

They are great performers. Evan is a great skater. Madison does not have skating skills equal to him. She has very shallow edges and doesn't get the ice coverage on her twizzles, which Evan has to slow down and match her pace. It's is very obvious to me. Dance requires presentation AND skating skills. I can't get behind this.

True.... I hate feeling this upset at the end of an event, especially when it's bed time... So I'll do my best to focus on the clean skates and hope for better judging in the FS..... *sigh* goodnight all. See you for the last 1-2 pair groups tomorrow morn.

Well, even at 4CC, C/B led W/P and the latter made up for it by a substantive margin in the FD. This was par for the course, they can easily get past them again. At Euros, even without the SD lead, P/C creamed C/L by 7 pts in the FD too. So the results should look like the GPF again. However, it's too bad that P/C won't be world champions this year with that glorious FD of theirs, if the scoring is relatively consistent. The ones who were underscored were the ShibSibs. Missed Lena and Ruslan so I don't know what to say about them.

Same with pairs. But they'll just come back next year and get the three spots back.

Again, judges are blind. Everybody can see Shibas are better in edges, skating...And still Chock and Bates are 5 points ahead them in technique. Just because levels. Levels are the the most important thing. More important than anything else. And the worst thing: Let's take for example year 2030. People will say about Chock/Bates they are the world champions(not yet, and let's hope it won't be true). Nobody will ask if it was for, nobody will know some 5 couples was actually better.

Well, if Stepanova did not decide to polish the ice tonight, I would not be predicting I/Z's rise. But now Russians will try to do whatever it takes even if it's not realistic. Some major negotiations will be taking places now. So somebody must suffer, I say S/S and C/L.
