Not bad for Ashley, she worked hard this season

and the camera in the 2nd K&C is annoying, like there's only so much stuffed animal waving you can do

I really admire how hard she's been working. When she started to train with Mr. Nicks, he helped her to improve presentation very much but Ashley most of the time skated with 3-2. Then she realized that she needs 3-3 if she wants to seriously compete with all these young girls. Then she realized that lutz is necessary and started to work on it. Her technique is not perfect, she knows and she's trying. And it is not so easy to rework technique at the age of 23. And her presentation skills are great, when she skates to her music I see she feels good in that music(except one bad choice-Romeo and Juliet).
As I was very nervous I didn't see her skating today but from your comments it looks she really fought. Now she smiles in the second kiss and cry, I like seeing her like that
She is just my favorite skater now, along with Liza. I think I will send her some nice fan letter.

And why is Polina so low?

That was a pretty solid skate, but Polina needs to stop telegraphing her jumps (not all of them, but quite a few) so much. She also needs more flow out from her landings.

Good for the U.S. girls for putting forth a solid effort in the FS!

Heh. I don't think they actually dislike each other personally (Ashley had mentioned enjoying getting to know Gracie during Stars on Ice); they just don't like competing against one another.

Polina must have gotten hammered with edge calls or URs. Ouch to that score.
