2015 Worlds Ladies Free Skate March 28

Liza is the only skater tonight getting two small medals plus the big one.

What a weird competition, though I'd be lying if I said I was displeased that Ashley and Gracie were able to move up in the LP. It's a shame that so few of the ladies were able to put two decent programs together this time around.

I think the biggest upset is Satoko beating out Elena for silver.

Honestly I don't remember a single move from Liza T's programme now.
For Satoko and Elena, yes I remember signature moves of their programme but Liza... I don't remember anything.

We begin the night with a pop, and we end that way. *sigh*

Maybe Kanako had a chance for bronze if she were 100% on and the judges went with it, but now...

US, Japan and USA gets heir 3 spots, Canada and South Korea get to keep their 2 spots, Zijun earns 2 spots for China, what a competition this has been wow

I do deny it - but I just have no idea what you mean by "tacky" in this context. Do you mean not "serious", not "balletic"? Because frankly I find most serious/balletic programs even tackier - they're generally trying to be something they're just not. Figure skating's pretensions at "art" generally are rather tacky (doesn't mean I don't love them!). Liza's program wasn't pretentious, and it suited her style, which is pretty much the most you can ask for.

When I refer to it as tacky, I'm talking about the blowing kisses and finger pointing and winking. I'd love to see Liza get some better choreography. She's so great, her programs aren't really a reflection of that. She does the best anybody could with them, going for the fun spirit of it, and she's never going to be a balletic skater, but I'd love to see her do something more sophisticated — because I think she can excel even further.
