2015 Worlds Men Free Skate March 28

Also, two guys in the top 6 (Misha Ge and Jason) don't have a quad. Proof that consistency gets you far.

Yes! What is a quad? A quad is 10.3 points. Lots of ways to get 10.3. But you have to work on spins and steps and PE and tr and goe.

Do russia have an upcoming new talent to contend? I dont think I can take Kovtun to be russia's flag bearer till 2018 OG. unfortunately the old guys are just too inconsistent to overtake Kovtun.

Pitkeev and Petrov maybe.

Oh and forgot, congrats to Misha! I hope that tweet was for your program and not for your career because you're totally amazing.

And I should probably post this in the Stupid Questions thread, but why is it only at the Olympics that the winner is announced last? Is it because that's standard at Olympic sports?

Hey it's Speedy, he looks nothing like I thought he did...I thought he was a small rotund guy with glasses.

And have they made the World Medals slightly bigger?

IMO Jason succeeds with his consistency but he also sort of has that x factor. He's a lovely skater even when the technical elements aren't there. I wouldn't have put his PCS that high but I guess that's his reward for doing well all season. But if you're looking at just technical elements, then yes it's fair to be critical

I would! His program is superior to both Javi's and Yuzu's, full of details and nuances, well timed to the music. Now I know it's not all about choreography, but I think the PCS is fair among the Top 4. What kind of stuff were the Chinese commentators critical about.... lack of quads?

Haha silence greet cinquantta.. surprised he didn't get a few boos

NOOO. Chiquanta, get out finally. You don't even know why are you giving the medals.

"What are those rigged bits on the front of you boys' blades? TOE PICKS? What in the world are those for?"

:) J/k.

Now after 1am.

Sorry, I'm crashing out. I'll have to try and figure out what the blue blazes happened in the ladies in the morning.

I really enjoyed today's event. I don't love seeing skaters make mistakes or experience that disappointment, of course, but errors can make for a more interesting competition.

I'm shocked the US retained its 3 spots, and proud of Adam and Jason! (And Josh for fighting). I thought Jason especially was beautiful today. That's probably his best performance of his FS so far. Still plenty room for improvement, too - for whatever reason his lack of relative speed stood out to me this week.

There's Adian Pitkeev and I think Mishin is coaching Petr (?) and he seems to be a good jumper already. Pitkeev also struggles with nerve though even though he's really promising talent wise.

Japan finally lose their 3rd spot for next year :hopelessness:

It's so shocking; however I could see that when third group finished, because I expected Javi's win.
He peaks once a year, and he has been saving his peak for WGP, while Denis, who also peaks once a year, has peaked at four contient, already.
Good job! Javi:clap: I love your K/C reaction.

Just plushenko. Medical science can do wonders.
