When I don't like a skater, it's not because he/she is russian/american/canadian/japanese etc
100000% agree with this.
Because my favorites are from all over the place, it's very frustrating to see people say "American ladies are awful" or "Russian ladies are unbeatable" or "Americans have the best artistry" or "Russian ladies are all flops." (This really only happens with American and Russian ladies from what I see). Do people forget that figure skating is an individual sport? Different skaters have different strengths and weaknesses. If someone is treating all the Russian and/or American ladies as a monolith in your posts, it makes me think they actually don't care about the performances, they just want their "team" to win.

. I like Evgenia, but I stand behind not liking the construction of her program (the tanos make no difference to me). I fully understand that it is more difficult to put the jumps in the second half, and she deserves to be rewarded for that, but the first half of her program is so empty and ill contstructed that it's distracting and aestically unpleasant.
