Does anyone know which version this is that Yulia's skating to? Never heard this one before. Love it, though.

You mean real one, right? Not like last season Saransk overscore-fest? I agree. Hopefully they'll go to Nebelhorn. The sooner they will establish themself as the Russian team #1 the better.
P.S. On the serious note, some people here forget that with the whole Meldonium mess (intentionally or unintentionally created by WADA) and Katia's wedding and honeymoon with Andrei Deputat they trained very little during the offseason. Look, she even considered to retire when she was temporarily suspended. She had no motivation and basically no intention to continue. But she still rocks it, they look ready for the season. And here some people say such things like 'the entire off season.' What a mess.
I doubt thast it's Julia's new programs. At this show they all skated to music they were given. So it's just an improvisation (because they had only one rehearsal).
It was reported that she was the only one who skated to recorded music.
And...someone said she said it was on her ask.fm so maybe it is.
Wow) Interesting choice!
I'm not confirming anything and more so I'm just hoping it is based on loose and unverified hearsay :hopelessness:

You are right, but she did not know when the ban was going to be lifted and if it was going to be lifted in time for them to be able to compete this season or even in the Olympic season (at least from the beginning of it), so she did not have that much motivation to train like she usually would. From her own reports she trained a little, but mostly devoted her time to other things, like acting classes, preparations for her wedding etc. So she can be a bit out of shape compared to other skaters who always knew they were going to compete this season bar any sudden injuries. Someone asked (sorry, don't remember who it was, or even if it was on this forum) has Soloviev always been that much better than her. I don't think it's really true. Last season Bobrova did not look worse than him and in general looked much better than this. Of course, Soloviev was coming back from serious problems with his knee/s, so he was not at his best ether, and Bobrova had especially concentrated on skating skills while training alone. Perhaps the difference in their skills was more visible before the last season, but, to be honest, I don't remember noticing any huge differences. Maybe I just was not perceptive enough about such things yet to really see the difference, but I don't remember other, more knowledgeable people noting on it either.Wasn't her suspension lifted by the end of April? She had the same amount of time as anyone who was at Worlds or the US end of season 3 continents thing (I know it's not called that, but I can't remember the real name!) And the ban stopped her from competing, but not from training.
You people have absolutely no imagination. I know nothing about their music, but going by their costumes alone, I would say that a perfectly modern and respectable scenario would be:
The young newlyweds are crazy for each other. He has a formal dinner obligation connected to his high-powered job. After working late at her own high-powered job, she finally escapes the office and comes home to an empty house. She's lonely for her husband ... loves the smell of his shirts (it is not uncommon for women to feel this way) ... so she puts one on as she looks forward to welcoming him home. When he walks in the door, ...![]()
Not sure if it was posted .It's Loboda/Drozd new SD.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQ7TiTi7upI
And FD: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Si2y-4o-FUE
Oh dear. Initial impression of the FD? "Well, I guess the best you can say is they got to strike another number off the War Horse Contractual Obligation List." The first 30 seconds are just empty business. They do have wonderful edges and curves though and the lifts have potential. I don't think this style suits them but, you know, early days. I hope I'm proven wrong. I think they're the strongest of the Russian juniors by a considerable distance.
Weaver/Poje reveal their music in the below video:

FD: Concierto de Aranjuez by Rodrigo
SD is the music alerady mentioned by some people: Black Velvet and Swingin'

See it's funny because I thought further along that scenario...they just experienced an Afternoon Delight and she's in his shirt (which is why he should be shirtless) and, being so into each other, start dancing.
We should write a movie together. LOL!

I wonder how judges would react to THAT (except too much nudity deduction).Gracie is not as fluid/balletic in upper body compare to other skaters who excel in that . I agree. yet I mean every adjectives I wrote there when I saw this SP for the first time comparing to my impression of her SP last season. I will not go to details in terms of specific moves here.
EDIT: In terms of why use Tango as SP again. this is my speculation. since Gracie is most likely responsible for earning 3 spots for US. Her term and herself might felt that pressure and responsibility, they cannot do whatever they want and experiments much. Therefore, chose similar music genre as last year, Gracie might felt more comfortable with. They could easily keep the same SP programs, and actually, many top tier skaters do that when something huge is on the line. but they did not, they upgraded in contents and nuance, that shows their sincerity, kudos for that.
How and why? Ashley's and Mirai's showing placement would earn three spots. Polina's and Ashleys would have the year before.
Has Ashley made her programs known yet?
