My first impressions of Patrick's programs at SC:
SP - HEAVENLY, despite the 3A fall and the imperfect 3Lz. Patrick is so relaxed in the SP this year compared to last year. I love the program.
LP - NO NEW COSTUME :scowl: :disapp: (fingers crossed that he will have a new one at COC). Gorgeous 4T+3T and 3A. Then the 4S fall seemed to zap his energy for the rest of the program (he admitted as much). But he landed the 3A+2T!!!:yay: The first time I watched the program, I was disappointed about the jumps and it didn't really have "the magic" for me. But then I read all the tweets that
vivley so graciously gathered and felt a lot better. The tweets showed me that a skate can be technically flawed but still inspire and move people. Eric said, "Thank you @Pchiddy for the chills" even though there were jump errors and Patrick was "dying a little bit" toward the end. Imagine when he gets used to doing the 4S and isn't as tired how amazing the program will be!

I can't wait!!!!!
As far as Elvis's comments, they don't surprise me, because jumping is his favorite part of figure skating. His sentiments were similar in 2010. Maybe skating without quads is boring to
him but it isn't to me and many other fans. (Well-executed quads are certainly exciting, but I find good skating in good programs more lastingly memorable). I wanted to share this comment from YouTube by Karl O (on the no commentary LP video):
"I would say this kind of skating is going away. But, in truth there were only a handful who could ever do this. Glad I'm around to see it." Some of the mean comments maybe assume that Patrick is somehow happy with flawed programs, but in the K&C he was clearly not happy. May he do the work needed so that he will be happier after COC. Showdown with Jin again.
