a new fan fiction between this (b)romance will flow out of these pictures :roll9:
Actually, dare I say it? The butterfly that Patrick does in the middle of his combo spin reminds me of a certain martial arts move.

Anyway, I came across this photo from last summer's Stars on Ice that I hadn't seen before:

Do you see Patrick's costume? Black shirt with... red suspenders!

Also, I like these pics of him chatting with Yuzu at SC2016:

Smiles and hugs!

Translation of the Weibo post from the Official CoC Weibo:
Some of our country's male figure skaters openly expressed their love for Boss Qun*, adding on, our new figure skating calendar is out, at the competition they will be for sale at the souvenir area
*Patrick's Chinese name

SOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute! No wonder Patrick is Han's idol as Han's great SS is a result of Han's hard works to emulate Patrick's beautiful and untouchable bladework. I hope Patrick cleanly lands his 4S this time and Han regains his confidence from the home ice.

Go Patrick and Han! :hap10:

I'm actually not super optimistic Yan Han for CoC, reports say that he twisted his ankle in practice recently, but we'll get to see his new costumes at CoC so we have that at least

Awwww. Now I love Han even more. For keeping his admiration and love for Patrick and for the documentation.

I'm touched by the official statement that unabashed love for Boss Patrick is expressed by several Chinese male skaters. I hope it fills Patrick's heart and that he will show in China why he's so deservedly loved.

Now maybe the female skaters would follow the guys and not be shy about their Patrick love. ;)

eta: Some fans commented that they wished to buy this calendar specifically. :)

This link seems to be the same but easier to access:

In the podcast, Lynn Rutherford said: "Any time you can listen to Patrick Chan, I urge you to take advantage of it."

And for our non-English speaking friends, here's the transcript of the podcast interview, which I added to my CoC preview post:

Whew! I spent most of my spare moments today putting this together. Nick likes to ask long questions, and he had no problem allowing Patrick talk on and on, but it's all good. A lot of good stuff in the interview - including Patrick's future plans, his work with his new coaches, his commute (ha), his favorite cartoons, favorite things to bring on a trip, and his admission that he doesn't read much... except for GQ magazine, lol.

You're really great vivley! Can't imagine how much time you have spent for this!

Aw, thanks! I'm re-reading it and found some things to correct already. Pardon the errors.

Nick and Patrick like to ramble a bit, and Patrick often stopped mid-sentence to correct himself, so some of his thoughts are broken up.

I find it hilarious that his last dream/nightmare was about the elections...

Thank you for the link. His responses to the interview was well-though-out. I did not know about this podcast channel. There seems to be some juicy stuffs I want to listen to, too.

I like how Patrick described his new training environment with Marina and Oleg. It looks very organic; the intuitive dance/mental coach and the sound technical coach side by side. They both play equally important role; boosting Patrick's confidence by making him feel ready and providing him with the actual materials to be competitive in the top group. I knew Marina was an excellent choice for Patrick, but hearing through his voice with certainty and reassurance makes me even more pleased. I appreciate that the team and Patrick respect what Kathy had done for him. Not to mention the quality relationship with his training mate, Nathan!! I smilesd through the entire conversation. So happy for Patrick and wish him a good luck at the COC!!

Photos of Patrick in China!

https://twitter.com/HanYanFanVan/status/799106646941134849

Looking pretty happy - can't tell at all if he's jet lagged. Beijing must be warm, as he's wearing shorts...

He's skating first for the SP?

Ah, these three were on the 4CC podium together. I hope the happy memory will boost not only their friendships but also their confidence at this event.

I'm touched by Han's open expression of love for Patrick. Patrick was his idol but I think the love comes from having met and known him, like other skaters who love Patrick for his warmth, sunny personality and that heart of gold. To know him is to love him.

Skating first at an event is new for Patrick. I think it's good with fresh ice, fresh warm up and a clear mind. He skated the LP first in the last group when he won his first Worlds title in Russia. And Shen/Zhao skated first for the SP at 2010 Olympics to win the Gold Medal. Go Boss Patrick!

Er, Patrick wearing shorts has no correlation to the weather. :)

I'm hoping it goes smashingly well for our Chiddy who is going to have clean ice.

As an aside: I was very impressed with Han Yan's skating at Skate Canada despite his jump issues. I found myself drawn to his skating over other well known athletes. I see why now. Well, he's got good taste. :)

Practice photos in the morning of 17.11

It says "For the morning practice, Qun Qun was the first to skate. For tomorrow's SP, he is again the first."

Interesting the official Weibo message calls Patrick by the endearing nick name. Patrick was first at practice by alphabetical order and the first for SP by drawing.
