2017 Four Continents Men SP | Page 6 | Golden Skate

2017 Four Continents Men SP

I´m looking on a laptop and now it is 98 messages and still 3 pages... I don´t think I have changed the setting, how many messages are shown on a page. If the aim for some people is to have so many pages as possible, maybe you can change the setting into one or two messages on a page?

If you're using the mobile version or viewing through Tapatalk, your per page post count may be different than it is on the desktop version. If it really bothers you, perhaps you could ask for help in the feedback forum.

Nudging towards page 8 (or page 4 for someone's unusual computer).

Who will you predict to be the sixth guy in the final group of FS after Prince, The Birds and The Beetles, Loco Piantao, Igor and Spider Boytano?

just predicting that those will necessarily all make the final flight is a feat in itself... that means nobody pops a jump ;)

This is the men. You might as well predict when the end of the world is coming.

Easy. When Evgenia Medvedeva will bomb her program  I'm curious if the line up will actually stay as it is. Probably best line up in past few years and in future ones as well (next year it will definitely be less stars skaters packed), very exciting!

If I had to predict anything, I'd much rather try for the SP. The FS is where I just hide behind my hands and peek between my fingers when I dare

Jason.

And I'll make a bold prediction and suggest that Brendan won't be far off it.

Karne, have you recovered from US Nationals yet? Enough vodka in the liquor cabinet? Bless you, dear.

I'll not be over that in a hurry.

Maybe I should get some grog for 4CC. The men are all at suitable drinking times.

Page 8 for a competition that doesn't start for.. 10 days? Is this going to be one of those nutty threads?

it's going to be a thread full of bold statements before, then, :palmf::hopelessness::eekn: during the event... and then, when the protocols come up it will be like this :drama::furious::furious::roll5:

so make sure you :slink: just before the protocols come up ;)

Lol, please. No, sorry, I don't think he "was happy that he had an opportunity to skate in a confidence booster event" - that's politically correct bull, I meant exactly what I said. Why mince words? He won with a bad LP, and rightly so, because he's head and shoulders ahead of the European field - including the bunch of Russians (and I do enjoy Kolyada and Kovtun quite a bit but they're not Javi's league). It wouldn't have happened if he'd had Nathan, Shoma, Boyang, Yuzuru and Patrick all up against him because on of those would have certainly done enough to wrestle the gold away from him.

That said, I also do hope the event won't be a splatfest. I'm not expecting compketely clean skates from the quadified programs but I'm hoping they'll limit the falls to one and that two or three of the top guys won't fall at all.

All the reasons frida80 mentioned, but this is probably the most important. In the pre-Olympic year it's good to know what it'd feel like to skate in February.

What's to say Nathan, Shoma, Boyang, Yuzuru and Patrick would have also skated well? And what's to say Javier wouldn't have skated cleaner had the competition been stiffer?

FYI, Javier's total score of 294.84 is more than anyone scored at the Grand Prix Final. And that total is a personal best for Javier on the season, and the 2nd highest season total (behind Hanyu at NHK) so far. Hanyu also won the GPF with a bad LP, and while we thought Chan or Fernandez could have certainly done enough to wrestle the gold away from him, they didn't. But like with Fernandez, while Hanyu won with a bad LP, he also had an excellent SP which certain people seem to be ignoring.

Thanks for the help, but I´m 100 % happy with my computer version via Google Chrome and prefer the way things are. Why would I need to see more pages? It still is 3 pages with 114 messages.

It was unclear to me that you were happy with the way things are. If you are, that's good.

Guys, I have to say...this thread is going to live its own live by REAL SP competiton will arrive...LOL

and I predict a big build-up by 15-17 pages, then steady live updates (with mute periods while faves skates) and a word vomit afer, regardless of results

still not decided if I should cut off a top 10 and them randomly select them from the vase for predictions game...:drama:
