You see, with the way we refer to the Polinas by the initial of their surname (all thanks to Polina Korobeynikova having such a long surname!), I was curious to see if we could make up a complete alphabet of skaters named Polina.

Even without getting it completed (when I reached 50 Polinas, and was still no-where near the end of the list, I decided to give up), I had multiple skaters for nearly every letter! :laugh:

Yeah, and the plotline could be something along the lines of trying to set a Guinness World Record for the most skaters named Polina in the one place. But, things going wrong when trying to round them up, and then rivalries between them mean cat fights break out, and it descends into chaos.

Or maybe a it could be about a skating competition purely for skaters named Polina. And them trying to sabotage each other's chances of winning the title of "Ultimate Polina"!

I think we're onto a winner here! ;) :biggrin:

This was compiled in September 2015 by searching for "Polina" on the ISU Results site and Stats On Ice, and for searching for "Полина" on the fskate.ru site. And, as I said, I gave up when I reached 50. So, there are far more.

For example, one of the ones that puremagic mentioned, Ustimkova, is not in the table.

If I get the chance, I might go back to it sometime. But, I have a few projects that are far more important to get completed first.

All this is preceded by the ultimate most eligible bachelor meeting, falling in love with and separated from a beautiful girl during an adventure. All he knows is her name, Polina, and that she's an ISU figure skater. Thus begins a world wide search, resulting in a series of comedies and the eventual competition event in his effort to find his love Polina the skater. The competition is of course intense for the most handsome, charming, romantic and wealthiest young man in the world. Truly a world championship. And a Hollywood stardom opportunity for all the real ISU Polinas who would be invited to participate in the movie.

How is that for a figure skating movie, with a few ISU competitions thrown in during the Polina search? :)

And CaroLiza_fan, that is such an amazing list you've compiled. The effort of finding and formating the data is impressive.

random confession of the day (a weird one) is that my best ideas/solutions are born when I'm in my...bathroom. I don't know why, but really - since college, some good ideas struck me when I was in bathroom washing my face in the evening or doing laundry. And yet again yesterday another good idea regarding my work struck me there :laugh:, it's a good thing I suppose, but weird...

^ I don't think that's unusual at all. I come up with a lot of ideas while showering.

There's actually a product you can put in your shower (the paper is waterproof!) so you can write down ideas (maybe you should get it!).

When you're relaxed and your mind is quiet, it's receptive to inspirations. Like most people, your mind is likely junked up most of the times with all kinds of thoughts, so called monkey mind. It can't listen when it's busy talking!
 
happens to me too... and i would need that paper Mrs P.. cause once i fell off the shower, rushing out to write down something LOL... ;)

i also have wicked dreams where I write stuff for work..... and i wake up and then.. bang... one paragraph is done ;) let your mind work when you are not cluttering it!!!! that's the secret to productivity.

and thanks to All of You being pro-bathroom idea place:) and lol to that waterproof stuff for noting ideas:laugh:, probably useful, but I am a die-hard Post-it yellow cards master, carrying them everywhere and anywhere - usually after idea is born (in bathroom or elsewhere), I'm noting it out, even just basic points and pin it on my big inspiration table where all my chaotic universe is: photos, postcards, maps, sketches, drawings, ideas on writing and so on...

The most practical home for tornado prone areas like Kansas are berm houses - ie, excavated from hillsides, wind goes right over them!! My sister and her husband lived in one for 15 years when they were first married in Lawrence KS..... They are kind of like Hobbitt dwellings, warm in winter, cool in summer. He's a hydrologist.. His first job out of college was a 15-year project for US government purifying pollution in indian reservation wetlands. He taught at the Haskell Institute of Geology at KU..
