2017 World Ladies FS

I loved its simplicity, the airy jumps and light steps, and no contrived facial expressions... just nice. Easy to love.

YASS PB! such a shame that she made a mistake in her SP :( if not then she would have a new PB in total score and can have bigger chance to be in top 5 :(

Such a fantastic job and a happy ending for this worlds for Mai. So relieved that she had that redemption skate!

I am so happy for Mai:yahoo: Great redemption!
She is one of those skaters who can deliver pure joy of skationg!

I thought the program was paced well and choreographed to the build up of the music swell well. I may be less demanding, but i appreciate 15 years old skate like 15 years for once, there's alot of precious youth not celebrated enough. It is a precious quality should be acknowledged more instead of putting them on another point grabbing safe war horse overwrought Carmen etc... too much make up etc..

You got that so right

With this score, and if Wakaba keeps it together, a little glimmer of hope for Japan keeping 3 spots is back. Depending on how others do of course

not impossible but their combined slay count is huge.... let's assume the russians are consistent.... and only those 3 place ahead, then japan is 4-5... =9. you see where i am going with that? one skater ahead both 5-6.... two skaters 6-7... so 3 skaters ahead of both means 7-8....

there are several ways where things could get in between of course from 1-12 to the 6-7 but again, with the 3 russians.... it's hard to imagine wakaba can be ahead of any of these 3.

Disagree. Mariah was too obviously nervous. Mai went out there and slayed.

(If Mariah had skated less nervous/tight, then I would agree with you).

She was speedier, had better coverage though, and more on the attack side of things. Mariah had better interpretation (there's more nuaounce interpretation demand in her music, where as Cinderalla you just have to be joyful, effervescent, charm.)

Yes, I agree, Mariah was kind of subdued today and was visibly nervous, she also made a mistake. But she skates with great maturity and has a better choreo and transitions.

Mai was clean and very exciting, but she still skates like a junior and there is nothing spectacular in her program. She was enjoyable though and has great SS and posture. I would either lower Mai PCS, or increase Mariah PCS, as they were on a similar level overrall.

High score for Mai. Judges reward clean jumps and it's great that she got redemption - I expected no less, she's been a force to be reckoned with all season. I can't really get 'into her' artistically though.

I think Maria is actually a possible scalp. She is not totally consistent. In fact IMO it is far more certain Osmond will finish over all the Japanese than Maria doing so.
