Patrick Chan

Pardon me, but step sequences are my thing too, my dear 4EverChan. ;)

Anyway, just here to say.....

625 pages! :yahoo:

i do ;) every single cell of my body was tingling and i thought.. but why ? what? is there anything special today? how could have I thought it was Patrick's first world championship anniversary right? i mean.. so late in april??? ;)

and no.. it's not tattooed on my butt ;)

the truth is so boring...

on facebook... there is this " on this day" feature which reminds you what you posted X years ago on that specific day...

i click it every day because i have had such rock and roll years... and i can see the great moments and the struggles and it helps me make goals, helps me realize that perseverance will get me where i need to be, helps me focus ON THE PROCESS NOT THE RESULTS :)

so on april 28th, 2011 I wrote, From Brian Orser, to Kurt Browning, to Elvis Stojko to Jeffrey Buttle to PATRICK CHAN. Canada has a new world champion <3

That was my facebook status...
1) if it was tattooed on your butt you'd probably wouldn't see it ;)
2) for some reason, I didn't see you as a facebook kinda guy
3) if you remember, the reason it was so late in April was that the worlds was originally set for Japan and then there was the earthquake/tsunami. Kudos to Moscow for stepping in and doing a great job. I really thought they were going to cancel the worlds that year and if that had happened Patrick would only have 2 world titles.

yup i remember... thank god patrick got anointed back then... we don't know if he would have had the other titles.. momentum is everything ;)

but unlike some people i think he won the 3 titles fair and square .. .so there ;)

about tattoos.. I can see my butt.. that's what every gay guy learns to do from a very young age...
about facebook... i used to like it... but i am very MEH about social media unless i can be private like here LOL.

and i answered number 3 already

Lol, just got back from my trip and here I am, catching up on FIVE pages of posts in this fan fest, woohoo! :yahoo:

The weirdest and funniest skating-related coincidence that happened on my trip was during dinner the first night. My waiter was an Eric Radford lookalike (with a similar voice and mannerisms, too)!!! He was tall, slender, very nice and professional, and had never heard of Eric before. He told me that most people thought he looked like Prince. But he seemed impressed with his new doppelganger, ha. I was so tempted to take a picture with him!

Speaking of Eric, here are some pics of him with Patrick. Not sure why he's holding Patrick's arm...

Thank you all for the links posted, etc. I definitely have some blogging to do now! :agree:

i like aquapat :)

Haha, sounds like a superhero to me! Hmm... maybe Blueberryhill will create a portrait of Aquapat!

FYI, everyone here knows that to see a larger version of the image in a tweet, right click on the image and select "View Image", right? Just a friendly tip in case you didn't know.

Just updated my ongoing SOI blog post! We have some videos of Patrick courtesy of Skate Guard Blog, who said that Patrick was 100% on point tonight! :agree:

On April 28th, 2011, Patrick Chan became world champion for the first time. After a couple silvers in the previous years, he got dominant with mastering the quad toe which transformed him into the most complete and balanced figure skater: a skater able to deliver the most difficult jumps and yet, a skater with polished skating skills.

From 2011 on (well for me, it was from 2008 on) the world was graced by the beauty of Patrick's skating and its explosive, straight in the air, high and textbook jumps.

6 years later, after 3 world championships, 2 world silver medals 2 olympic silver medals, Patrick is still learning and improving. His traditional layout is no longer 4t-3t 4t 3a... and a couple 3lz.. but ladies and gentleman, watch out for 4t-3t, 4t,4s, 3a, 3a+whatever combo he does... we are witnessing a very special moment in figure skating, when a champion is pushing himself YET not diluting his choreography. Superb skating...

Patrick is one of a kind. Will always be. 4ever will Patrick be remembered as the ultimate skater.

Here is his ground breaking short program with the best score ever at that time, 93 and dust... on Take Five... a very intricate program nevertheless.

I was watching the SP and thinking "This looks like Baryshnikov on skates", and then at 2:18 they mentioned Baryshnikov and how Patrick watched videos of him! This is some pretty amazing skating!

by super young 19 y o patrick chan, in an era where PCS wasn't easy to get... he got just over 40 for this... nowadays, he would get a big whopping 47-48... people forget how young he was and how fabulous. glad you liked that.. (now go watch the lp... it's quite something too :) ) haha
For me, it was also from 2008 on. Speaking of Take Five, I found the TSN footage of his 2012 Nationals SP elsewhere online and re-uploaded it to YouTube. I love all of Tracy's glowing comments. I love Scott's exclamation right when he finished: "Can you say perfection!" I got all nostalgic when Scott said, "In the old judging system they used to have 6.0s for perfection" and "Patrick, we're going to give you a 6." I love the applause from the other coaches and skaters. I love Patrick's youthful joy. As Scott said in the wrap-up, "101.33, or 6.0." Enough said. Indulge yourself. Oh, and I must also point out the heavenly simple stroking (no music providing emotion, but I got emotional anyway) from 0:13-0:30.

Holy moly -- love the way he went motoring into the 3 jump combo. I'm a big POTO fan, so that gets extra points with me right away! :laugh2:...During the off-season when we're all crying about how there's no news about our favorites, I'm going to take certain skaters and watch all of their programs and go way-way back. Patrick will definitely be on my list!

that is a freaking awesome 3lz-1/2loop-3s :) i didn't remember he did them so early in his career ;) BANG ;) IMHO best Poto ever.. but i am biased ;)
It's my favorite POTO by a male skater and always will be! My favorite POTO by a female skater is Akiko's. :)

I'll be back to post more later.
