Patrick Chan

After an insanely busy week preparing for a concert, I am glad to be back here catching up on all things Patrick! :agree:

Check out my "Multilingual Patrick" page for links to more videos of him speaking different languages. Enjoy!

Wow! It seems that you need to hang out near the subway more. ;)

I think he was there for personal reasons as well. Check out my new blog post and let me know if I'm right.

All, here's my latest news update on Patrick and his singing, sit spins, and car:

Patrick Chan Summer News Update, July 4, 2017

I included a transcription of the English part of Patrick's "My Canada" video. If anyone can help summarize the French part, that would be great!

The Olympics are only 31 weeks and 2 days (a little over 7 months) away!
hi vivley...

i think ic3rabbit said above that she had wonderful Français so maybe she can swoop in with the transcription for your blog

but I can do it if she is down into the rabbit hole ;)

regarding Eric, well... over the years, it seems that Patrick and Eric have become very very close, so I wouldn't be surprised that Patrick came over to Montreal for a house warming party. I assumed he went to gadbois because of the obvious world champion ice dance there with them ....
BUT:) your tweet makes a lot of sense, and also with the picture of the green line subway. July 1st in Quebec is not just Canada day... it's moving day. Most leases are effective that day and if it makes it tough to find a moving truck, it's what kept rent much lower than in the other big cities in the country (though, Montreal is getting expensive more and more)...

So, the neighbourhood identified on the tweet....hochelaga is a neighbourhood that is gentrifying. It has nice places and well.. not so great ones... I lived in a wonderful triplex for one year there and it was just perfect. It's on the green subway line which is great for both Eric and Luis as a compromise location between the St-Leonard rink in the north east (if D/R trains there still) and Gadbois which is in the south west.

Of course, they might drive but then, same deal as a pretty much in the middle location.

Sorry Vivley, you're going to have to ask Mr. 4EverChan to do the translation as Ms. Ic3Rabbit is too busy with 4th of July here as well as other things in life.

Thank you for sharing all this info viv and 4everchan. <3

Thank you for all the background information, 4everchan. Now perhaps you could hang out in that neighborhood more often... you might just spot Chiddy, too!

here is what Patrick says verbatim:

De voir des milliers de personnes partager une passion que j’avais depuis... un enfant. C’est un moment extrêmement spécial, d’avoir un rêve d’être un jour … d’avoir la chance de patiner devant tout le monde à la télé, dans la patinoire, c’est un moment très spécial et de voir tout le monde avoir la même passion c’est vraiment un moment que j’avais rêvé depuis un enfant ..

there are mistakes (Patrick is rusty in French) but i didn't want to correct them (because he's cute) :) here is what he means
To see thousands of people share the passion i have had since i was a child... it's a very special moment, to have a dream, to have the chance to skate in front of everyone on tv or at the rink... it's a very special moment and to see everyone have that same passion is really a moment that i had dreamed about since i was a kid.

I think it's the context of the Canadian support for Patrick and athletes at the Olympics... because extracted like that it doesn't make much sense.

In this Icenetwork blog from Tom Zakrajsek, he mentions he's working with Patrick on his quad flip.

Model yourself: Max trained alongside three-time world champion and Olympic silver medalist Patrick Chan for several years when the latter was based in Colorado Springs, and as I recently began collaborating with Marina Zoueva on several of her skaters, I am working with Patrick on his jump technique and consistency, as well as a quad flip. This experience has been invaluable to Max, who has said, "I watched Patrick train like a beast, so I must, too." Finding role models to imitate is a key to success.

Thank you, 4everchan! I added your summary to my blog post!

Thank you for the link! It was only 5 months ago that Patrick thought he didn't need another quad (article linked in my blog post). Obviously he's changed his mind since then!

Must be that quad practice... he looks so relaxed lying on the ice!

This is my open reply to a private message from 4everchan in which he claims to be pure and made of unicorn and rainbows:

have you ever heard a cougar hiss.... in French?

it goes like this : isssssssssss.... issssssssssssss

I am pretty sure it can scare a rabbit away from my chiddy

:laugh2:

He is a beast - a French hissing cougar.

And he's scaring a rabbit away, why?!?
Rabbit has made it clear she has others to fawn for and Pat is safe.

Has Patrick indicated whether he will be competing in any Canadian local competitions before the Challenger season/Team Canada camp?
