Per wikipedia, Arirang is "often considered the unofficial national anthem of Korea."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arirang

Sohyang is one of the most respected and talented singers in Korea and this performance is legendary; I'm very happy that they're skating to this and hopefully, we'll get to see it in Pyeongchang- it would get quite a reaction from the crowd.

Not a single Korean soul doesn't know Arirang's melody and lyrics- I was hoping we'd get a program to this tune and I'm excited that someone has chosen it.

About Chan´s music, I think they both are really beautiful pieces (not heard them earlier), but I´m not happy that he has chosen kind of same type of music for both sp and fs.

I am okay with SP but Hallelujah's been beaten to death in FS - are there no other songs to choose from? At this stage I would applaud anyone with some fresh ideas even if it is a Downton Abbey soundtrack :drama:

Has anyone ever skated to 'The Windmills of Your Mind'? (Noel Harrison's version is my absolute favourite)

Matt Savoie listed Windmills of Your Mind as his short program in the Olympic season 2005-2006. But I don't know where he performed it, if at all. By the time of U.S. Nationals he had reverted to the previous year's magnificent short to Barber's Adagio for Strings, which he then used for Nationals, Four Continents and the Olympics. Here he is at Four Continents, where the music is actually announced as Windmills of Your Mind. (At least, that's what they showed on the screen -- I don't actually speak Chinese. :) )

Edit: Here are Albena Denkova and Peter Tchernyshev in a pro exhibition with a kind of literal interpretation (of wheels within wheels). I think the vocalist is Barbra Streisand.

If you let the channel play, the next vid is Dusty Springfield's version, accompanied by a montage of skaters. :)

Thanks You so much for posting this! In my opinion, Matt was truly something special! Always underrated! One of my personal favorites

Mine too! I'll never forget the moment when he came in third at 2006 Nationals and secured a spot on the U.S. Olympic team. Incredibly, he stayed w the same coach his entire career.
