Yes, sometimes the literal meaning of a phrase or an idiom can be thoroughly forgotten when people only know and use it for what it represents.

P.S. As I originally didn't have access to the Chinese interview, I tried to get a gist of it by the comments posted. Yours was particularly interesting so I brought it here. BTW, Patrick had not chosen or revealed his new program music at the time of the interview. Your comment was also poignant as it seems to suit the theme of his programs for this season as well as his new Zen mindset.

P.P.S. Your comment also almost spurred 4everchan to become a monk!

Hahaha. Thank you. You are so welcome. I didn't know it until yesterday I crossed the high wall and finally got here for the first time. That phrase was my first feeling after reading his interview, perhaps because of the revelation of some kind of higher state of his thought or, as you said, his Zen mindset, when he talk about how to face the pressure in his third OG and also his relationship with figure skating. But actually I said that as an exaggeration and even a joke... Of course I don't expect or convince him to become a monk...(so as 4everchan...)

BTW, I don't like the underlying meaning of the "nothing matters” attitude in the phrase. He is still competitive and of course the result of his games does matter.

I brought your comment here because I appreciated the humour. Don't worry, only 4everchan has shaven his head and is now a fake monk (狗肉和尚 ) Patrick and I are doing 带发修行. He is as mighty as that famous monk known as 齐天大圣 the Monkey King.

Welcome! And I agree with you about not liking the "nothing matters" attitude in the phrase. IMHO, what matters is that he gives his very best to each competition and enjoys the results, not letting them define who he is. A great example of this is his third place finish after the short program at Worlds. He rightly said that even though he was in third, he felt like he had won because he executed a flawless routine. I want him to have a lot more of those types of moments this season.

Yes, people there make amazing edits. I went through his tag and I am posting those until SCI. Because by then I will be free from uni and I can already make my own edits.

As for the different stages, as you mentioned… my original plan was to make everything chronological but turns out, tumblr has limitations on that. The best I can do is to backdate the posts every once in a while, so everything is in reverse choronological order. I think, once I post everything and I fill in the gaps on past events, it will be nice to scroll through it.

And to vivley, I’d be honored to be linked to your site! Thank you so much, and no need to rush. And thanks everyone for making me feel very welcome.
