I was very worried for Mirai during the starting pose. To me she was shaking and looked super nervous. After she landed the 3A I felt a bit relieved but that was clearly too early for me to relax...Mirai has been woefully inconsistent for years WITHOUT the 3A. I think if nothing else has helped her by now, the 3A at least won't do anymore damage - it has a chance of changing her psychology, if anything, especially seeing how she's really nailing the jumps in practice. It's when it comes to a real performance that the jumps fail her. And that's all psychological.
