Do you even want to compete anymore, Chiddy??? It's fine if you don't, but your programs this season are so gorgeous and they have not been skated well yet. Patrick may tell us what's going on in the run-up to Nationals, but this wait with little to no info and confusing info is not fun at all. :dev2: Hopefully this break, or whatever you want to call it, is rejuvenating for him.

I watched some mens for the rest of the GP and was so sad. My favorite LPs were from Misha Ge and Adam Rippon. Everyone else was boring for me. Misha was boring at COR but divine at TDF. Deniss Vasiljevs's LP is growing on me by leaps and bounds yay. I love his skating!!! I was watching everyone else and thinking, "Patrick had a terrible LP at SC and I still enjoyed it SO MUCH MORE than most of these!" :disapp: IMO, the mark of a masterful program is how much I can enjoy it when the jumps aren't working (yes, I know enjoyment is subjective). Is there enough happening between the jumps to keep my attention? I know that's a high bar, which currently Patrick, Jason, Adam, Misha at TDF, and Deniss Vasiljevs meet in mens. (Side note: SA had so much strange stuff happen - Daniel and Adam with mid-skate shoulder injuries, the LONG wait for Han Yan's score, Adam picking up so much stuff from the ice before skating and hence being introduced twice, Ashley's mid-skate WD; did I miss anything?) :hopelessness:

I had just organized my thoughts to post, and now see the flurry of activity here to let us know Patrick has vacated his hidey hole in Vancouver to rejoin the competitive skating world at Challenge. Phew. I'll keep fingers x'd his next stop is Michigan…

However, I'll still post said thoughts as they're heartfelt about this remarkable skater:

Okay, I’m primarily a lurker but I’ll hop in here. I joined the Patrick bandwagon when he first went senior. His silky edge work is the epitome of what Brian Orser explained many years ago about how the correct use of the blade could amplify acceleration with appearance of ease. Brian himself had this quality and I can see it this year in Liam Firus as well as signs of it developing in Joseph Phan.

I am concerned about how this season is playing out for Patrick. Whether it’s a loss of confidence or drive, or whether he’s hiding an injury or other physical condition causing fatigue, I don’t know. His skating school in Richmond is in the works – are business commitments a factor? I checked out the new club’s website:

…only to see ‘coming soon’. It appears most in this fan forum who follow Patrick closely are still pondering, too.

My wish is for Patrick to be happy and do what makes his life most meaningful after giving us so many years of beautiful skating. To that I’ll add (being purely selfish, here) I sure hope that includes skating his butt off at Nationals and Olympics and that he shows us the magic that are his Dust In the Wind and Hallelujah programs.

In the end, best of everything for you, Patrick!​

it took me several to get back to :cool14: I just cannot believe that I am not going to Challenge this weekend after all... I have a show on Saturday so it's too tight... and Sunday, I really promised friends I'd be with them for their birthday....

Also, well I had such a good dose of Poje at ACI that if I consume even more of that perfect beauty, SarahSynchro's missile that has been trying to tag me based on a Poje love detector would finally hit... I have been able to divert it for a while.... (it's not North Korea, it's SarahSyncrho creating all the troubles)....

As for Patrick : I am still not over the fact that he smooches without ID in liquor store.. it makes me feel so old that.. yeah.... Plus I'd kick his Canadian Hall of Fame butt and say to him : 4salchow. NOW

Haha, I have to book flights for four people to Vancouver, since my family is tagging along. If it were just me I wouldn't care as much about cancellation fees and such.

well.. .i was rereading the tweet... and honestly, i think we got ourselves too excited.

Right to Play's ambassadors... not Skate Canada athletes ambassadors

The way one could read it is this way...

Right to play thinks all Canadians have to be at Challenge to qualify for Nationals... it's normal that they wouldn't be aware of the BYE system...

So they simply wish good luck to "their" ambassadors competing this weekend.

If Skate Canada had organized for Patrick and Andrew to be there as "athlete representatives" there would have been a presser and something on SC's website...

this is just unfortunately "wishful thinking news" that those two are in Montreal...

Just my opinion based on twitter.. you know... that thing can create a lot of "fake news"

Hey welcome to the fan fest! I've also been a lurker before but decided earlier this year to join the celebration that is Patrick! and let me tell you the people here are the most supportive ,friendly ,and polite fans you will ever meet, just like Patrick!

In regards though with him keeping a bit silent about everything that's going on, I kind of feel you there. We're used to his very vocal self about the things going on with him especially during interviews, and now not hearing from him is just kind of weird. But in a way, I guess this is Patrick maturing? So I guess we just have to wait til he tells us really what's going on, which i know will definitely come.

I didn't realize some of you misread the message as his participation as a competitor at the event. He, along with Andrew, are the Right To Play's athlete ambassadors. I was thinking he would be there (not to compete) but now I'm not so sure.

BTW, in the Jin's withdrawal from GPF thread, Patrick is reported as depressed and having dropped out, based on PJ's mention. Incredible how rumours get started.
