2018 US Championships Sr. Ladies SP

Even with the jump mistakes Ashley never let go and gave a PERFORMANCE. Sad the judges didn't want to recognize that...:if Carolina can get away with it why not Ashley

Because she's no Carolina?

Although I agree that the judging panel did her dirty here. They really want to coronate Gracie 2.0 before they front her as their best shot in Pyeongchang. I'm not a big Ashley fan at all but after all she's done for US skating these past 4 years, dang that's cold.

Tara: "She's so teeny, so that affects the power getting into the air, so the jumps aren't as impressive."

Did she forget who she was? Ngyuen's jumps are already bigger than Tara's ever were. What a joke.

Again, reading tea leaves. Do you know for a fact that the federation instructs all the U.S. judges to "inflate Bradie and deflate everyone else"? I find it implausible that American judges would be commandeered in this way. Russians, yes, but it's contrary to the American ethos of "meritocracy," however fallacious that idea is.

The international judges were still giving her high PCS, so??? And her skating skills are demonstrably better now than in the past. They're hardly that mediocre compared to much of what we'll see at nationals and the olympics

Previously inflated. Now, no longer US #1, so she is where is belong. Her skating skills are weaker than the top 3 right now.

Of course Johnny has to insert a random pro-Russia blurp in during a skater's performance.

So many poor music choices tonight. Snore. These young girls are totally overpowered and can't match the music. Who on earth is thinking that is a good idea.

I'm not sure what USFS is doing here- the scores aren't so weird as to be fishy but USFS knows what they want. That said- if Ashley skates LalaLand clean she will be rewarded in her PCS scores. And she does do well in an underdog position.

Actually the USFSA has spoken loud and clear about hyping up Bradie - through her score here.

If you take a look at Mirai's international scores, and Bradie's, it's very clear that Bradie was inflated big time. And Ashley was actually scored down compared to that too. So USFSA wants Bradie for the new queen.

Ashley's stock is tanking now that international judges thought she is no longer competitive. US judges put her back in her place. Weak skating skills shouldn't Get high pcs.

The judges don't care. At Worlds 2016, all the panel gave her 8.75+ for skating skills, if I recall correctly. They're willing to ignore mediocre SS when the packaging and tech is there. That's what they did with Fernandez.

Maybe she's speaking from experience?

Kaitlyn Nguyen

Alright 3Lz+2T. Flying sit and layback spin are a bit slow. Footwork has fine flow but not a lot of relation to the music at all. 3Lo in second half looks < to me. Clean 2A but a very awkward fall after it. Combo spin was adequate.

Sad to say but there was very little artistry at all in this program. Lack of facial expression, extended body movement, or stylization of any kind. She seemed very sad skating for some reason.

if this were true and the panel was so dirty they could have easily marked Mirai's 3-3 ur (as they would have most likely internationally) and penalized the 3A more goe wise to give Bradie a bigger cousion.

In what world does a .70 lead equal a coronation

Nobody is carolina, but we've seen her do worse tech this season then Ashley just did and still get held up majorly by pcs. I just wish Ashley could get some of that benefit because she is an amazing performer...or If only she could get the generous ur calls Satoko gets

USFS and US ladies fans: We really need a lady who can rotate all her jumps and who has a 3-3!

Universe: here's Gracie Gold

USFS and US ladies fans: We really need a lady who can do all that AND isn't heartbreakingly inconsistent!

Universe: here's Bradie Tennell

USFS: HERE WE GOOOOOOOOOOO PCS TRAIN WE HAVE A WINNERRRRR

US ladies fans: whining

Idk y'all idk. (But it is wayyyy late for me on a weekday).

In the side race of Worlds Jrs. team, only Starr's really made a case to be sent. All the junior candidates are going down one-by-one. Ting Cui may have a case if these senior girls don't improve in the FS.

Clearly they don't want Ashley on the Olympic team.
