2018 US Championships Sr. Ladies SP

What a weird event. Surprised that Mirai was held up so much... guess the USFS feels they owe her a trip to the Olympics. I'm quite happy for her though! Kind of shocked with Ashley's PCS though, not sure what message the USFS is sending.

Excited to experience the free in person on Friday! Spent a whopping $15 for a nice seat behind the judges on Craigslist.

Perfectly reasonable to question the ~+2 GOE for Bradie. Federations with a deeper field would definitely not do this, but that's because there's a deeper field. :rolleye:

I thought you were just blowing smoke before, but I see them flames now.

I have no reason to blow smoke. I call it as I see it, and have been doing this a long time, so sorry to those who think differently.

Are you serious??

Interesting information there.

USFS seems to be saying:

Bradie and Karen, we really really like you both to be in the Olympic team. (pops Champagne)

Mirai, we like you to be on the Olympic team. (opens a can of Coke)

Ashley, we kind of don't want you to be around? (and you have to pay for that bottle of mineral water)

What’s even weirder is that the same judge gave her +2s and +3s on everything else

Keystroke errors are the best!!

Yulia had a few all +3’s on her spins that were spoiled by one -3 from a sloppy judge.

Well someone needs to fix this mess!!! ;)

and thankfully we finally have a lady who appears to not only fully rotate her jumps without question and doubt but also appears to handle the pressure well (to be honest the jury is still out on that. its still too early but so far so good). Isn't that what US fans have been begging for for the last 10 years?!?! We appear to finally get it and all people want to do is moan :palmf:

Can anyone tell me why Karen's spins and step sequence are all level 3 except her layback? Not sure on the stsq but I was counting her rotations and she looked fine getting 2-3 full rotations in every position

Looks like usfs is going to do everything in their power to keep Ashley out. Her performance was miles above anyone else in the pack. Her Step sequence was way better than Mirai's. All I ask is that they judge it as it happens not as they'd like it to happen. Why is that so #$%!! hard? Ashley is already talking about being willing to change her short program. That's not what it's about. I love you to death Ashley but just land the combination

Go BRADIE!!!! Keep doing your thing and ignore the haters!!!

As for Ashley, I think her music s*cks! Not an olympic worthy program, imo. And her jumps are failing her so bad, so many UR. I would hate to see her make the team if she did NOT earn it. This will be what? her third olympics? Step down if you didn't earn it.

My picks for the team:

1.Bradie
2. Alexia Paganini (oh but wait, she is skating for Switzerland now? :confused2:
3.Starr Andrews

I am always worried about Ashley's TES and now they do not even give her the correct PCS. I am quite disappointed. I hope at least Mirai wins, she worked so hard for this and it's visible. Who cares if she doesn't perform well enough, the scores are wrong anyways.
