2018 US Championships Sr. Ladies FS

Will Bradie pull a Wagner face at the Olympics when she sees her scores?

Meh.. I thought that Ashley was under scored in components. I'm a bit indifferent between whether Ashley or Karen get to go, but she was definitely underscored in comparison to the other girls. She definitely gave the most mature and cohesive performance. Her edges seem to have improved as well. If Karen and Ashley had been scored equally in components, Ashley would be the bronze medallist.

Why are they all of a sudden against Ashley? And 69 PCS for Bradie?????? No waY, what a gift.
Need to fix the scoring system. Good tech does NOT MEAN good PCS. AARRGGHH!!!!!

Easy, it's politics. It's why they sent Polina instead of Mirai back in '14 as well.

I'm going to regret saying this, but I wouldn't really be upset if they still chose to send Ashley to the Olympics :scard7:

I’m lukewarm on Karen. Ashley made strategic errors with program choice this year; so did she. I’m not convinced her choreography is that brilliant. She needs some serious coaching and polishing to unlock her potential, but her approach seems so scattershot.

it has never been SO obvious how ashley was held down in components. i want to cry for her...how unfair.

I wish they would do like Russia and let Ashley and Karen got to 4CC and duke it out there for the spot. Ashley had the better GP season, and Karen had the better Nationals. Higher place at 4CC takes the spot.

i dont understand what huge edge karen has over ashley...she's had 2 terrible GP events and couldn't put it together until now. not that ashley had a stellar season but at least she medalled. not to mention like 2 points separated them tonight.

Yeah, but Karen is the reason they still have three spots. That counts for something

Both Ashley and Karen have excuses as to why they under performed tonight. Karen was sick Ana even had to miss a practice. Ashley debuted a program, so she needs more time to get it consistent. However, I seriously doubt they want a repeat of 2014. Ashley had four years to come prepared. It’s unfortunate, but Karen should get the spot.

I honestly think Karen was the most held up skater of this competition :slink:

I guess that 4th place at last years worlds carries far more weight then the many many underrotated jumps and poor results she displayed this season :confused2:

Same. Tbh, I still think they shouldn't send Bradie, doesn't matter that she won. On an international stage she's nothing. Ashley stands more of a chance. (along with Mirai and Karen)

While Bradie is totally boring and forgettable, it is great to see a consistent american skater for a change.

Karen and Mirai :yahoo: :hap93:

Yeah I feel bad for thinking she's the skating equivalent of a beige wall given how much of USFSA's hopes are now pinned on her but damn if she doesn't bring the technical skills.

i don't get why people keep saying that either...they are both the reason. not just one...both their placements were enough, not just karen.

It’s more that the USFSA is trying to send a message to the world. “We have a new girl! Technically sound like those little Russian girls! She WON our championships.” Having mirai win tonight wouldn’t send that message. The usfsa is really trying to push for bradie.
