Maybe the judges were just judging what they saw. If I were a judge, I would've gave here 60 for PCS and she would have dropped down to 6 the place. Ashley needs to expand her jumping abilities. Under rotated, popped and stepped out jumps need to be fixed if Ashley wants to make a run for 2022. I can't see the USFSA putting Ashley on the Olympic team this time around. Before last Olympics Ashley was a little cleaner and had a much better GP season.

USFSA makes the rules, bends the rules, everything. This really would be the most fair method. Bradie and Mirai are shoe-ins... let the international judges decide who between Karen and Ashley has the better shot leading up to the Olympics.

Ashley was hot mess at last year Nationals, at last year World, the whole year this year, and at this year Nationals.
Karen is less of a hot mess. Karen should go
Off-topic(?) but I just watched Starr and that was great! I was really impressed to hear that she did the beginning vocals all by herself! Her singing is wonderful and it's nice to see that she wasn't afraid to actually put it in her program. I hope to see more of her in the future!
Sorry for that interruption, you may now all get back to throwing tables at each other.
That was personally my 3rd favorite performance behind Mirai and Mariah...but dang she really had a great break-out performance here I'm really proud of her. She has so much charisma and star quality so i hope she can work on her skating skills and improve her jumps because she has that performance quality in the bag.

Was anybody on the edge of their seat, terrified that Bradie would implode or UR a bunch of jumps?
No? And THAT is why USFSA is so excited about Bradie.

Let's send Michelle Kwan to the Olympics and pull a France and choose not to use our other spots.
This thread is toxic and people are ridiculously nasty to skaters and other posters. Calm yourselves. I understand being emotional, but actively insulting skaters and posters doesn't seem like a bad place to draw the line.
I'm sad about Ashley. In my heart, she's my first choice for the team. Bradie, Ashley, and Mirai, while Karen stays home to figure out everything about her skating that clearly ISN'T working. She's young and has many years ahead of her, and I hope she and her team don't continue to repeat the same mistakes over and over again. But it's all turned out how it has turned out and the judges have scored how they've scored, and given Ashley's current body of work and how it compares to the other ladies, it would be wrong for her to replace Bradie, Mirai, or Karen on the Olympic team. Ashley is my girl, but I can recognize that it is how it is.

Yes, I thought she had one of the best costumes of the evening. And one of the best PERFORMANCES (which seems to be my theme of the moment lol!).

This is an interesting idea. But honestly, Ashley used up all her goodwill in 2014. Even though both have been underwhelming, Karen's competitive record in the last year is superior to Ashley's. She's last year's national champ, she got 4th at Worlds (thereby solidifying 3 Olympic spots for the US ladies), and now she's beaten Ashley for the 3rd time at a championship competition. It's close because of Ashley's competitive record pre-2017. And while I agree that La La Land could be exquisite in Pyeongchang, the proof was in the pudding. Karen beat Ashley here, so Karen earned the 3rd spot fair and square.
Sad for Ashley, though.

I'm not kidding. Her skating skills are really that weak. Not all junior girls, the ones that made it to the gpf. Do you believe she is capable of doing anything these girls can do with skating skills?
