Got a pair of scissors. I would also do the same for Jason Brown too. It was endearing but Jason has been around a while now and some of his antics are not so cute any more. That being said despite the splats it is clear it is Javier and then whoever.

I wish we would stop focussing on the guys looks- it is rather demeaning. But back the skating - Misha looks fairly consistent so I think he will go for Russia. I still feel for Voronov but I think looking at the results of Aliev and even Samarin. It's over this year for Sergei. I am not so sure deservedly but it is what it is.

They are all very good-looking guys but the presentation and image are very important [everywhere in life] and especially in this sport.

Again anyone has theory why the judges did not give Samarin the +COMBO with his 4T making it invalid and scoring zero? He lost atleast 5 points with that and should moved him behind Kolyada.

I really can't think of any

The commentarist said something about rearranging his points, and so count the combo

Do people still think Kolyada is a Gold Medal contender (or general medal contender)?

Silver yes. I never thought he would win. He has the BV and gets big scores in the FS even with pops and falls. I think he will be 2nd. Of course, I'd love to see Dima surprise everyone with a great FS but I don't expect it to happen.

He is still contender for gold, mostly Team Event gold if OAR is permitted to the Olympics. :)

As for the individual event, Kolyada is generally considered as a contender for "bronze" along with a lot of competitors, so the gold is a long distant shot, but who knows...which Kolyada will appear; splatfest vs two clean programs.

EDIT: Are you talking about the gold at here? Well, unless Javi completely bombs, highly unlikely. Besides, Kolyada's free consistency is not generally good. He will probably get the silver.

Medal maybe, gold when was he ever?

Oops, i thought we were talking about the Olympics.

Still, unlikely to get gold here unless Javi undergoes a complete meltdown.

medal contender yes. Gold Medal can be.

He has the TES and decent PCS. One thing about Kolyada is that he doesn't UR his quads so unlike the other guys who have quad. So even if he falls he gets full credit. He needs to skate perfect to contend for Gold which he hasn't done yet this season.

I was asking about the Olympics.

I read it in some other threads (or was it Tumblr) that people basically wrote Patrick off and substituted Kolyada for medal contender. I'll admit I haven't watched anything since NHK. I mean I know the results of the GP series, but I really haven't followed. I saw him live last year and remembered thinking he was still a bit rough and need refinement. Maybe his skating has improved?
