Yeah. But at least Torino OD was funny to watch even with all those mistakes (excluded Dubreul/Lauzon one)

Well, Bychenko getting PB for his SP with a strong performance was not underwhelming for me at all. Also, Matteo's decent performance and Shoma who got himself in check, unlike maaany others... There was not much of a highlight there, but those who raised to the occasion should not be buried along...

Honestly, I think most people here would prefer listening to her doing a full on commentary of the event over the actual commentators on the various streams.
Not me, though. I’ve tried to have this kid deported to Siberia, like, thirty times.

The judges are always very generous to Russian skaters too and the French couple. Mikhail got 42.61 in PCS for the disaster skate. Almost three points higher than Bychenko. The favorites regardless of country will get high PCS regardless of performance. The OAR team has only itself to blame for the position it is in.

Well, if you have what it takes to be a champion, then you find a way to deal with the hype and pressure. I think Nathan will get there in time, but Kolyada has never shown an ounce of that quality that sets skaters like Yuzuru, Plushy, Evgenia, & Yuna apart from the rest. That's why I never understood why they keep pushing him so much.
I also think Valentina should get some kind of "most overrated coach" award this season...

Well, jumping for joy is a bit much. But Kurt and Carol are being very upfront about how much help Patrick got from the Kolyada and Chen imploding. They're shocked more than gleeful.
Very impressed with Shoma's ability to 'keep it together' after the shaky start. --It's what all the other front runners couldn't do.
The judging seemed quite lax in the technical and PCS, but that's the Olympics for you.
Eh, so what. The judges love Shomaaa, no matter what! Shoma was no great shakes, and he was overscored, as was Patrick Chan. Totally surprised by Kolyada and Han Yan! Wake up guys. This is the Olympics, what you've been dreaming of for years! I do think that maybe its too early and the opening ceremonies hasn't happened, so the turnaround time might be cut too closely plus the early in the day start time is also not very conducive to skaters being primed to do their best. But they have to adjust.
It's early yet, but I wonder if Italy and Japan have a chance to battle for podium spot. All of the other U.S. skaters have to be at their absolute best.
That’s benefit for skaters taking part at team event (if they did relatively ok), inflation of PCS...
In Shoma’s defense, a lot of them were overscored, so it’s all relative.

Get Ashley and Gracie. Terry can stay, I've always liked him.
Kolyada gave up a lot more points because he can't even skate in the free anymore. Top 5 advanced to the free and splits points 2/4/6/8/10, if I remember correctly.
