2018 Olympic Figure Skating Team Event Day 3

Something has happened. Between the end of Team Event Day 2 to now, the boards have gotten an upsurge of bickering posts.... :slink:
Sorry not trying to bicker, but I am serious I am from the US and I have watched skating for years and I'm so tired of the hangers on and how us figure skating has not developed young Talent and it upsets me that are truly strong area which is dance continues to be the unloved and unappreciated disipline

I think pride will force Patrick to attempt a quad. :) But not to worry, Patrick won't be last and Kolyada won't be first.

As for Mirai being the third women to land a triple axel at the Olympics, I hope she remembers Midori Ito. If you miss you first attempt, throw it in at the end!

That will require a big dose of pride, guts and badass. Pity that we are highly unlikely to get a Midori Ito in the CoP era. She really was a unique lady, and her jump talents are probably all natural and untrainable. And a lady who actually had really good basic SS and used TR in the 6.0 era just because she could! Hope Mirai takes on some of that badass attitude of her parent’s former countrywoman.

I do wish the ice dancers were the ones being replaced just because all the US teams are so strong. No hate for Nagasu or Rippon though. I like that they keep skating. That shows they love the sport. Easy to skate at 18, harder as you get close to thirty. Respect!

Oh sure she could have. She lost to Miyahara by one one-hundredth of a point, and the judges could well have hit Osmond harder for her mistakes.

The judges were never going to hit Osmond harder, she along with Kostner and the two top Russian girls are always inflated by the judges. Bradie barely losing to Miyahara is still a loss, exactly as predicted, and most people feel the gap should not have been so small. USA needed a lady with better quality that could create an Olympic moment if they skated their best; Karen Chen's SP is the only one that has the beautiful qualities to get the audience/judges on her side with the PCS if she were to skate great, as well as being technically superior to Bradie.

I hope USA loses the Bronze medal to Italy now and learns a lesson. They made bad choices for this event.

So, I just created a twitter to complain about SporTV's pronunciation of Russian names. I expect them to block me before the night is over.

Just as a refresher...
