2018 Olympic Figure Skating Free Dance

In fact, you seem to be trying to convince yourself.
Cry all you want will not change the fact that Tessa and Scott have won fairly.

Convincing myself? You didnt see protocols, not me. I just explain it to you, because you think v/m were perfectly ideal in TES, ,they were not.
LOL whatever yo say. They didndt won in sochi and fans uber tell it was robbery, ring a bell?
You would be saying the same, if it happened to Tessa? YOu would be blaming everythin, everyone?Like in Sochi

It would be fairly, if Gabi had not some dress issue. Othwerwise, they won coz she had a problem. There would be no suc gap between them It is weird that even Gabi with dress problem made better rhumba then Tessa. SHe had a mistake which should be called, it wasnt

The board was buzzing last night, so I couldn't keep up on the app. Here are my thoughts.

It was a deserving win for V/M. I thought they skated that program better than they have all season, and I don't think the French were as good as I have seen them.

On the night's performance, the outcome was just.

I'm a H/D uber, but the Shibs took the bronze honestly. Certainly no "robbing" going on. Congratulations to them.

I loved the opening of C/B dance to Imagine, and I thought it would be spectacular. My heart broke right along with theirs. Such an awful fluke thing to happen.

I wonder who will make the trip to World's? I hope all the Americans do, because I want to see another comp between all three.

I was so sad for c/b. It was Devastating

They may have had a small injury, because they were completely silent.
But if it was a "strategical" decision, well, it blew up in their faces.

I don't think it was their decision, but the Federation's. Most likely, in light of Chafik placing last and J/C only 6th, they realized the chances France had of making the final were very, very low.
Anyway, the what if's are pointless, they didn't skate the team event, the new dress was a problem, they might have had a stellar SD without the dress issue or might have still made some mistakes. That's life for you, lessons learned, experience gained, they'll at least have the perfection of the FD to always remember fondly from their first Olympics.

They're worth much more than the simple statistics of who has the most gold medals in the sport anyway.

hmmmm ... so how do you explain the thunderous applause given to V/M (versus the enthusiastic applause given to P/C)? The arena certainly was not filled with Canadians - in fact probably <10%. So how do you account for the reaction from the other 90% of skating fans in that audience (representing countries from all over the world?)

It's the type of program. There's a reason why the ending was changed from 'dying in arms' to 'victorious arms'. Even though I much prefer the death ending (sue me! :P), they are smart to alter the program for the Olympic audience. It would be kinda awkward to roar loudly to the scene of a lady collapsing and dying in her lover's arms.

yes, typical corny program with dying in the end. But judges didnt buy it

yesm, fans are furious and angry that they didnt win FD. Because they know that FD is weaker then the french and if not the bad luck of french in short, they wouldnt have it. :p
So lets count, Canadinas won in Vancouver because they the event took place in canada, now they won coz french and their problems with the short. Yes, the are lucky pair

Your attitude is so shameful.

You put your opinion as absolute truth, a joke.
To win it is necessary to go well in both programs. P / C were not, Tessa and Scott yes.

That’s it, Scott Hamilton is not truly Olympic champion. He only won compulsory figures, he needs to give that medal to Brian Orser right now who won the SP and FS

Did Brian had problem with clothes for instance? Are you serious? YOu re laughable :agree:

I cannot believe people are still on about what is "latin" and what is not. VM and PCs SD are either both latin or both not. pick one. You can complain about them all you want but according to the rules set out by the ISU, they both met the requirements for the SD and that should be the end of this discussion on it.

People above, stop it already. Pollution on this thread, gosh.

I hope the ISU provides a rule ASAP about costume malfunction. Twice in a single competition is unacceptable and can really be mentally tough for the athletes. Choosing between showing your chest and try to get gold, or not and get a -5.00 is unbelievable to me.

I agree.
I'm leaving this topic. It is going down a not good road.
