Somewhere Tara is thinking "see this is why I didn't do worlds in '98".
OMG...I immediately thought that this is what would have happened to Tara if she skated.

You would've thought after 4 years Eteri would've learned a thing or two about not overdoing it on a 15 year old immediately post Olympics.
WHAT. ON. EARTH. HAPPENED????
Alina- well I guess it can happen. I'm sad she was crying, but she still has that OGM.
P.S. Evgenia would have won this mess with her eyes closed![]()
Ok,
It wasn't a total mess! There were some really wonderful skates.![]()
Bad luck for Alina, her growth spurt is occurring right now. In her very recent interview she told she's growing up and feels she's having 'some problems with jumps because of that'. She just had no time to accommodate her technique. Add to this a bad flu she got after the Olys and extra pressure after Medvedeva withdrew and left all Russian hopes on Alina's shoulders. No fault on her part, just unfortunate combination of many things. Sigh.
Not sure if this was posted elsewhere, but I cannot agree with Jackie on this.....
Jackie Wong "Hot take: Bradie Tennell should have been the World bronze medalist http://bit.ly/2pATSkB #WorldFigure #Milano2018"
and cut stage left to US fed official holding a gun to Jackie's head

Well it certainly shouldn't have been Satoko. Not sure if this was posted elsewhere, but I cannot agree with Jackie on this.....

I don't even want to think about what would have happened if Maria had gone one place lower.Russia - RUS (5 + 8 = 13)
Ashley kept training, up to and including while in PC, while it was still possible for her to be called on to substitute at the Olympics.
Shortly after nationals, she'd informed Mariah Bell that if called on for Worlds, she would decline, so Mariah would have plenty of notice to prepare and train. Ashley needed the time to heal her heart, she said; (I say her psyche too) after nationals.
Ashley's earned this time out for herself. She did what was best for her country. She wasn't going to say yes to Worlds what, 1 or 2 weeks before the event, when she knew she wasn't prepared. She has my respect.
But I wanted more La La Land too.I'd like to have seen what more she'd do with it. If you haven't seen the Russian Pair's FS, Astakhova/Rogonov, I recommend a viewing. They did a lovely program to it yesterday, including my favorite tune from LLL, City of stars.
That's just mean.
Raf said Ashley wasn't training before nats so how/why could we expect that from her before worlds when she didn't make the olympic team and was engaged in other business opportunitiesThis has all probably been discussed but for consistency's sake

This is objectively a joke. I just scored Kaetlyn very harshly on a spreadsheet and can't get her below 139 (and that's with me not giving the benefit of the doubt on any borderline GOE and giving her PCS all in the low 8s).
