what kind of a person's reaction when Alina's crying is to rant on and on about how much they need Medvedeva and hoping she comes back and that Alina's not reliable enough etc. etc.

I have a feeling that Carolina will keep going for another year. I just feel it.
In the mix zone she have said that need to rest now and than think about it. She have a lot of invitations.
And then she said that, in the future, her first desire is a piece of mother's strudel :rofl2:
I hope to see her again next year, or even more, now that the results are not more important to her, and she smile no matter what.

Why are people crowning the upcoming juniors with all possible titles and medals? A lot of things can happen during their senior careers. Not all of them will become Med, you know. And even if they live up to all expectations, why cannot Alina win gold again? Stranger things have happened in the skating world..

Likewise! I was so shocked today. I had to sit down and have a moment to myself after the FS. Then after I calmed down, I decided to make an account.
I do hope that Zagitova can get much needed physical and mental rest. My heart goes out to her...

She's not. This quote is poorly excecuted. She's scoffing at Alina's words from yesterday when she said that losing your form during puberty wasn't real and you just had to eat less. So TAT's quoting her and pointing out that she's already growing and puberty is very much real. Still, not the appropriate moment to do that...

And even if they live up to all expectations, why cannot Alina win gold again? Stranger things have happened in the skating world..
Because Eteri seems to manufacture these machines? Both Med and Alina have turned out very strong and looking at Trusova's WJC performance, there isn't anything that stands out as a warning sign that Trusova won't do well next year on the senior circuit.
And as to why Alina can't win Gold again, if both of them bring it (and that in the context of today I guess is a big if) then I have a difficult time seeing how Alina wins (or any other non-Quad girl). A 10+ pt TES is just not something you can overcome given the chronic overscoring in PCS these days. Of course if someone implodes, a la Alina today, anyone can win obviously, but this level of implosion isn't particularly common.
Yep. TAT just seems to have no filter. Well, based on my reading of some of the Russian comments, people are very sympathetic to Zagitova, just like they are (mostly) on this forum. I hope Zagi gets some rest and goes back to training as usual. Sometimes routine is the best for shaking off bad competitions. I also hope she stays healthy and can bless us with more seasons of great skating. While her Don Quixote program is amazing, I cannot wait to see some new, different programs for her. No more ballet, hopefully. She never struck me as the ballet type.

There were olympic champs and medalists in the past who competed at worlds in the same year and they at least won a medal. Until now, people claimed how physically and mentally good prepared Zagitova is, well, obviously she isn't
