I am a bit worried that Brian Orser might get a lot of hates if things do not seem to work out. Zhenya is known to be consistent but if her jumping techniques are changed/fixed, she might lose her consistency. It will take time to show good results, that's for sure.

Eh...he went through same deal with Yuzuru back when Yuzuru's move was announced. Everyone saying if Yuzuru didn't live up to potential it would be Orser's fault.

The Russians bring the drama back to off season! Everyone remember Elena/Nikita split 4 years ago? It’s still not there yet.

This is a possibility. A lot of people blame Frank for Gracie's decline, but (a) she wasn't ever consistent as a senior skater, and (b) women generally lose consistency as they get older, anyway. I don't expect any big changes, though. Yuna already had solid fundamentals when she went to Brian, as did Hanyu. Evgenia may be able to improve the lutz, but otherwise I wouldn't think any drastic changes to her technique will happen.

Will she gain some weight when she's in Canada and not on the Tutberidze diet anymore?

The moment Yuzuru reached TCC, he told Brian Orser that he wanted to learn the jumps. Brian Orser said no and asked him to learn the basic skating skills (because "with good skating skills, the jumps will follow"). Because Yuzu had to focus on the skating, he found it harder to focus on both the jumps and skating skills simultaneously. So in his first few years with Brian, Yuzu never managed to land the quad salchow consistently. As his skating skills improved gradually, the quad salchow stabilised, but it took him quite a long time to do that.

I believe in the past Brian has said that it takes about a year and a half/two years for his training to truly impact a skater.

I think that was true for Hanyu. For Javi, I thought the results were pretty quick, within that first season they were together there was a drastic difference in his skating.

Also, Brian is known for taking skaters who already have pretty solid technique. Considering Evgenia’s jump challenges I don’t know if she’ll end up with him. However, is she does end up in TCC or really wherever she lands I wish her success.

It's not about weight. It's NEVER about it. It's about power, muscle repartition in your body, health, etc. If that makes you look very thin it's fine, if it makes you look very muscular, it's also very fine. Prioritize health.

I've noticed 2 things :
When Ladies that are noticeably "skinny", "very thin" put on weight, they skate better. By that I mean better skating skills, better flow. Tanith Belbin had to put on weight to skate better because her coach told her to do so (while she had eating disorders).
And Canadian female skaters (90% of them, all disciplines) are ripped. So much muscle. Yet, last time I checked they had a lot of World, GP, Olympic medals, and Team Gold. But they all seem so healthy, and most importantly, they last. They could skate competitively at 28, 30... much more interesting.

Well i guess that she didn't want to leave a threat to go train with another threat everyday. And maybe it will be hard for Orser though he had Yuzu and Javier.
Remind me when Orser said that he will never train Mao. Even if the situation was different.

Didn’t he say that because he was cornered by the Korean press and Kim’s management? If these rumors are true, it will confirm what I long felt about Orser. He’s super ambitious and very strategic about everything. Given a different context, I’m almost certain he would have taken the opportunity to coach a top athlete like Mao.
I see this potential partnership benefiting him more than Evgenia, who has pretty much maxed her scores. Orser, on the other hand, has another champion skater in his camp. He has nothing to lose.

Second one being... Wakaba Higuchi? Why not? They are good friends, great competition in the club which is quite familiar for Evghenia from her Eteri experience.

i think this would benefit wakaba too, since she has been on alina's tail all season. training with one of eteri's girls and having that environment every day will be great for her.

Zhenya may have maxed out her scores now but with the new rules, Brian Orser may be able to help her get higher GOE up to +5. Lol.

Of course, you are absolutely right. But unfortunately Evgenia was taught skating and jumping with the Tutberidze approach: flawed technique, but on strict diet so the triples can be rotated.
