Medvedeva leaving Eteri

Did he talk with her about that or it's simply his opinion?

Personally i think that skating for Armenia would be her most intelligent decision.

People only see Eteri's girls but they are just the ones who receive the most fed support. There are Panova girls and CSKA is always dangerous. So the fight will be more hard in 4 years.

Well, most of people was also sure that she would never leave Eteri.

And people were sure she had Olympic Gold wrapped up too and Zags would not be getting the PCS she eventually got and here we are

But sitting out 2 years to represent Armenia? When was the last time Russia released a multiple Olympic and World medalist to represent another country? Two years is a long time.

Oh, it takes that long? Then she will probably still Russian....
It's one year, as I understand it.

However, I don't see what the benefit would be. If Evgenia's not good enough to make the Russian Olympic team in four years (and that's the only scenario where switching countries would make sense), then she's not going to win a medal anyway.

Ahhhhhhhh it's only been a day and I really want confirmation that she's going to Orser ahahah I can't wait to know for sure. It seems like the only plausible choice bc anyone else would be a step back compared to Eteri...

But sitting out 2 years to represent Armenia?
Why ? Is not true that Evgenia need only the permission from Russia's fed and Armenia's fed, for make the change and skate internationally, at Euros and Worlds ? If i recall right, all the papers and procedure needed for the passport are needed only for the Olympics.

She can win by expecting that the favourites fall  Some won olympic medals and even olympic gold like that.

We can consider also the possibility that, even with the purpose of changing, this year Evgenia will skate for Russia, while arrange everything for the upcoming seasons.

EDIT: NOPE :dumb:

Sorry :shame:

You need citizenship to go to the Olympics but not for Euros/Worlds. Is that what you are asking?

Yes, so why the 2 years of wait ?
You need to sit out a year if you switch countries, not two, as far as I know.

That's why Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Nikolaj Sorensen didn't go to Worlds this year, as they're transitioning between Denmark and Canada and want to be able to go to next year's Worlds representing Canada.

However, as I said, I don't think it makes much strategic sense for her to do so.

Yagudin: "It is not the first time that I say, that two athletes desiring to win, can't share one coach, even if the coach does his best to get it right

But we've already seen this happen, And successfully, So for now it just sounds like
people making excuses for Medvedeva's choice, And that one doesn't really stick i don't think.

Yes, so why the 2 years of wait ?

You have to be released from the federation you last competed for. It's not about citizenship, she can get that if she wants it. It's about that mandatory wait period (no matter how long it is) and released from Russia to compete for Armenia.

And I agree with everyone who states that it's not happening.

Sorry, i was wrong abut that. She need to expend a year to do that, like Colonel Green is saying.
