Yes, but I don't know where "she refused to correct bad technique" came from... makes no sense. I thought Dudakov was the one responsible for jumping technique on that team anyways

Didn't seem to be a problem when Medvedeva was winning all those titles with her.

Let’s reflect on the adult in this situation, I know it’s confusing, Eteri certainly is acting like a 15 year old

More information about a situation can influence perceptions. Before - she enabled bad technique. Now we have double confirmation that she is malicious and attacks teenagers for leaving her. In the last few months, people have questioned some of Zagitova's comments about eating as well.

It’s the best option for her. It would end Eteri's whole point (if she still has one).

I really believe that is how she feels sincerely, in the interviews in March, Zhenya only supported her coach and denied any separation. I think a couple of things happened in these two months, 1- I think Yagudin advised her, they are working together and how he lived a similar situation made her analyze her case rationally. 2-Zhenya maybe noticed that the attention of Eteri is already in other people, and that she will not spend time improving her technical content. 3-Maybe she received the proposal from Orser himself while they were in Ice Fantasia. She consulted with her family, and they made the decision.
My sociologist mind forces me to analyze these possibilities.
Alas, my reading pace finally outstripped the rate of new pages appearing. Good luck to Evgenia! If she goes to Brian Orser, I'm excited to see what sorts of improvements will be made, and what type of style a different choreographer could bring to the table.

TAT LOVES her students. not just one of them (at the expense of all the other ones who are, of course, lazy, spoiled, unmotivated etc). her mao and her johnny and her lyosha (yagudin) and the rest of them to boot. hell, she loves other people's students, too. she won't stop fawning over chock and bates (i mean... chock and bates? but whatever, people have different tastes) and radionova and shoma etc. she loves skating, you know.
sure she can be a bit of a nag. she IS biased, and there are those she can't but hate on a little bit (anna and luca, satoko), but she was never a conveyor belt coach and her students were never mere 'material' to be turned into profit, i mean, product, i mean medals and the resulting riches, fame and admiration from rusfed. TAT was always ambitious but she's proven that you don't need to throw away your humanity while being so.
i'm sure TAT's students have been yelled at. more times than they can count. she's 'russian tough' (what eteri pretends to be but isn't). i'm sure they hated it. i'm sure most of them don't hate her as a person, though, because she hasn't had countless mud-slinging-interviews published - the kind of interviews that consist solely of bashing, insulting and shading her students when they have lost their careers to injuries, when they are at their most vulnerable, when they don't expect it because they have trusted her with said vulnerabilities.
eteri throws injured/anorexic minors she's been entrusted with to the vultures. TAT's fiercely protective and wouldn't do that - she's got some warmth underneath all the bluntness, after all.
wherever medvedeva is going, she's going to a better place than eteri's rink ever was. that much is clear.

I wouldn't surprised if in 3 or 4 years time Evghenia just returns to Eteri.
Changing coaches is a tricky situation. I will be interested to see WHY Evghenia decided to leave in the first place. My view is that she probably didn't see how she could grow under Eteri (sort of like Yulia), and decided to just try something different. She probably thought that because Orser trains the best male figure skater he could do miracles for her.
If that's the case, it was probably difficult to approach Eteri about it and I guess Eteri took it as an offence. I doubt Evghenia intended this. Parting with your long time coach is probably very tricky and it just blew out of proportion.

I don't even like TAT, but really? People are reaching if they think she and Eteri are on the same level.
(and Imagine is lovely ; ) so I can see why )Eteri probably thought that Medvedeva is leaving her because of jealousy towards Alina etc (hence the Alina drama) , when in fact it could be due to other reasons, like what you mentioned, she has been stagnating under eteri.

I can point to many posts where I praised Evgenia: for her defending Russian participation at Olympics, her amazing Ex at Europeans, etc.., but there was always that splinter of doubt in the back my head of Yulia disliking her 'in the good ol' times'. I've always wondered, how'd be possible for such cute and nice kid to hurt Yulia's feelings at all. The more I've listened to Evgenia's interviews though, the more unpleasant feeling of insincerity I've been discovering. If you look at Alina's and Yulia's interviews: Alina is nice, shy, but straightforward and sincere, Yulia - harsh
, cocky, but straightforward and sincere as well. They don't act, they don't change the tones of their voice. The vibe from Evgenia's interviews is completely opposite, now I know why.Regarding Eteri: I don't fully trust her as well, especially when it comes to skaters' health nor I'm under illusion the woman is mistress of elegance in public communication, but it's not really about her, it's about Evgenia behaviour towards Alina at the Games and towards the coach she'd been for the last 11 years in the last weeks. In Eteri's defence, I may just say, that couple of weeks ago, Polina Shelepen came back to her home rink for the first time in 6 years and wrote very warm IG post about the place and indirectly apologized to her first coach. Got the same vibe from Yulia, when listening to some of her commentaries about Eteri. Just saying.

I have been up and down with Eteri. She is wrong to go after Zhenya like that. She is 44 Med only 18. But her second daughter leaving her like this after saying 2 months ago she was staying has cut this great coach so deeply causing her to lash out at Zhenya the way she did. Big mistake by Eteri, I hope this is the end of it and that monday goes well for all concerned. I am sad for Zhenyas pain. This has to be hard on her.

There is no way she will return to Eteri or that Eteri would take her back. It’s gotten too ugly.
