What a funny question Of course they can't and they shouldn't. Albena and Maxim you're brilliant simply brilliant. But 5 points difference-lol-i know you're very good and kind persons,don't be so cruel next time, because D/L are also humans

Well, it is not so difficult to figure this out , because they are cut above the others.... and if yesterday this so stupid stumble didn't happened they would have probably been 8 points ahead of D/L.

But i should say D/L should be happy they kept their second position with such kind of dance.

Denkova/Stayvinski should just be given the World gold medal now. Their free dance all year has been too good for the others. It should be an exciting Worlds though with Canadians, Americans, French, Russians all fighting for silver and bronze.

I must disagree with you about D/L's FD. They had some problems with it at this competition, but I adore their dance — my favorite of the top teams. It's jazzy and sexy and difficult, and suits their style to a "T". Their opening lift where he holds her parallel to his body is one of the most impressive I've ever seen. Too bad they had a tough time today with it. At least you can't complain anymore about them not being dinged for mistakes!

I love this team. I love them or sticking around through all the Bourne and Kraatz hype. I think their silver at worlds was long overdo and I'm looking forward to a medal repeat at this year's Worlds.

D/L sticking around is also a real advantage to Virtue and Moir (stars in the making, IMO). This way they can get their feet wet without the full expectations of being Canada's top dance team. I fully expect V/M to win the silver at nationals this year and how great for them to be able to introduce themselves at senior worlds without the whole spotlight.

As for D/L they have worked hard and it is really paying dividends. They were a middle-good team for years, then decided they really wanted to compete with the best in the world and went back and reworked their technique entirely. It now shows in their wonderful speed and flow across the ice. They've also really blossomed as performers, and with some of their stranger program experiments behind them they are an absolute joy to watch.

Ordinarily, I would agree with you. Del/Schoe has some of the best pure skating out there. But this year, unfortunately just as the judges are looking for a reason to elevate the Russians, their FD is off-putting. Personally I thought the best FD they ever came up with was Frida — and they should have won the worlds that year, however their material this year just.....doesn't make me want to watch it again. That said, I find Dom/Shab's FD totally forgettable in every way, so.....

Yeah, I'm beginning to love V/M now and it's great that they're not thrust into the spotlight right away. I think if they keep going the way they are, they'll become World contenders in the not-so-distant future.

As for D/L. I actually hated ice dance until I noticed these two about 4 or 5 years ago. They skate with such passion and I had the privlege of seeing them at last year's Skate Canada and I had tears in my eyes when they were done. They pulled me into their program and that's what it's all about. It's so good to find another D/L fan!

I believe Denkova/Staviiski will successfully defend their World Championship in Toyko. But I also believe that DomShabs have the silver medal wrapped up, whether or not ice dance fans believe that is correct. I'm afraid all the other teams will be duking it out for the bronze medal.

The Russian team will have a stranglehold on the World Championship for the two years leading into the Olympics, and the OGM as well. Face it: it's all been predecided. And for those who think one of the younger teams will win in 2014, think again. DomShabs are young (21 and 24) and will hold onto that gold medal far into the future.
