2018-19 South Korean figure skating

I noticed that and thought it was a really nice touch! They should do that in all competitions!
I actually wondered if each skater requested a song prior to the competition. But maybe they just played some random song from the respective country. Either way, what a great idea! :luv17:

i dont think they asked skaters cause i doubt Guzide asked for the song played her K&C which was pretty old song (also another song during 6 min warm up which was even older ), but i agree that it was a nice touch :agree:

Really solid skate from Lee Haein today. She went clean and missed the podium by a few points finishing 4th. I'm sure she'll get another assignment with that. She seems so confident already at her age. And she was so smily at the kiss and cry, a cutie!

she is just deligthful on&off ice and seems like a good competitor!! *knocks on wood* love her spins too, her donut position is gorgeous  definitely lovely surprise, cant wait to see her progress

So, I saw Haein Lee live today and I have to say that she really, really surprised me. She is radiant on the ice, her ability to perform was breathtaking! My mom (who admittedly doesn't know a lot about figure skating) said to me after she was finished: "She's going to be a star. When she's going to the Olympics we can say that we saw an Olympic Figure skater live!" I was really sad that she ended up in 4th place by just a few points. With a better score in the SP she would have totally made it. But 4th isn't bad by any means. Hoping for her to get a second assignment. She definitely has found a fan in me after today! :)

Haein’s double axel is gorgeous and huge, am I the only one who thinks she has 3A potential?

Haein's second JGP is Ljubljana, and if she's clean in both SP and FS I'm sure she can grab a medal. She's delightful and charming, not to mention great jumps and spins! She just needs to watch her flip.

Yes she does need to fix her flip edge cause she's been getting calls on that since her first competition. She has pretty solid qualities for being only 13 and this being her first junior season. If her team works on improving her jumps she can become a real star. She's already so enjoyable to watch

I don't think there's list of entries for JGP Ljubljana but if field won't be super, super strong and she will skate without URs (she had couple of them but I believe it was because of her nerves not technique since it was her first big competition and she already handed the pressure better in free), I think she has quite a chance for Bronze!

I also love her axel, her lutz is nice too! :) That Ina Bauer into double axel in SP got me in feels :drama:

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but Junhwan got a second GP assignment in Helsinki! :yahoo:

Back-to-back assignments, but nonetheless it will be great to see him in two events this season.

(Any word on his programs? I've been looking and found nothing.)

My background is Korean, so I've naturally been lurking on this thread often and enjoy all your updates and opinions.

Do anyone knows about Kyueun’s new partner? They’ve done some triple throws and twists even though they were together for about only 2 weeks. Her mother says he’s a Canadian, and has been coached from Bruno Marcotte for at least 2 years.

Nothing about his programs AFAIK, I can't believe he will only let us know when ACI arrives. :drama:

That sounds like Mervin Tran, but I haven't heard if he's still skating. Probably not him but hard not to wonder a bit...

My understanding is this was a test run. Kyueun has to come back to Korea to do college applications.

Lee Haein was assigned to the 6th JGP. I knew she would get another assignment, i'm glad we're gonna see her again

It is Maxime Deschamps, he competed at Skate Canada and 4CC last season. They are not an official team yet.

Mervin currently trains and skates in California.

I didn't think of Maxime Deschamps, but if I did, I wouldn't have recalled he had trained under Bruno. Thanks for the info!

Also.good to know Mervin is still skating and training.
