I know! It's a good thing the Angels instagram usually posts a link, because there's sooo many national competitions in Russia and they have so many competitors it'd be super hard to find Sofia in among them all!

GP France will never stop being funny! I find it ironic that Plushy competed in the GP France when it was Trophee Lalique and as well as getting a gold medal, he also got a beautiful Lalique vase! I can't imagine what he thinks of the plastic stars!

First off - on the Coachshenko and Academy front

Also of interest they're been doing a lot of training at this large rink, I assume it's not the one on the land released for the Academy to build on a few weeks back...otherwise those are some fast builders!

Meanwhile since it's the off-season I've been getting my figure skating fix by watching Plushy programs on YouTube! His official forum very conveniently made up playlists for easy viewing. I'm only at the beginning - 1998 - but already there's been so many great moments.

My personal fave so far - Plushy's exhibition skates to Russian Country Dances and then Crazy Bird

Hmpf, I'm feeling a bit salty because earlier today I was catching up on the Russian Ladies thread because things have got calmer over there since the unpleasantness only to see someone had to take a jab at Plushy for being a fake-coach, just because he's performing in a show this weekend! Like seriously? I hope they blast Stephane Lambiel just as much when he participates in shows, although I'm quite certain they don't.

Anyway, while I was sorely tempted to respond with a scathing comment with some links to what Plushy's been up to lately, I wonder if they know (or care) that when he's not performing in shows (which fans greatly enjoy) he works at his Academy six days a week! I'm going to say no.

But! That has nothing to do with current Russian ladies skating and I didn't want to get into a fight since I'd probably get into trouble or just end up crying which hurts my eyeballs. So I'll just be grumpy here

It's pointless. People believe what they want to believe. Anyone who feels good making snarky remarks about Plushy being a "fake coach", or an "Instagram coach", will just say that Plushy only shows up for those vids/photos. Never mind that the children wouldn't be as relaxed about him as they are if this were the case. But who cares about common sense or observation? When people have made up a theory - especially if they are enamoured of it for whatever reason - they will only see the things that confirm it... and utterly reject any argument against it.

You're better off hitting your head against a wall - your chances of making a dent in that are far greater.

Not that I am recommending that course of action, mind you! You'll just end up with a headache - which may make you cry as well. Just come here and get it off your chest. Or do an angry dance. That could be quite therapeutic too.

Plushy skated to Albinioni in a costume reminiscent of the one he wore when he skated it as a competitive program (although, we fans mostly associate it with Nijinsky.)
