Well, I very much doubt that in real life there would be 4F +4 GOE, and not 4F! with +1/+2. Sasha really had a weak external edge. This is easy to see, since the camera was shooting from the most convenient angle at the time of the jump.
Plus, there is UR on 4S. This is again not difficult to see, and even carefully studying the jump itself, it is clear that the reason is not a dense grouping in the initial phase of the jump.
So the "veteran" was too friendly. I think the correct score is 4-5 points lower. Which, of course, is still a huge score.
Personally, I thought that the 4F edge might have teetered to a full outside, and I thought the PCS were a bit too high. But for the calls, the judges tend to not spot those by themselves, as they leave it to the TP (I disagree with the judges not doing the minimum there, but as it were...). We don't know the level calls on the steps and spins either, and the judge only scored her GOE there. So, the score should change internationally - but I think if she escapes all calls, then it might become a bit of reality soon enough.

On her summer training videos it looked more flat/inside, but in Test skate videos it was looking more outside again. I think prior to worlds it was the same thing: it looked flat/inside during Mishin show, but at worlds she couldn’t hold it there anymore. I wonder if it’s due to nerves at this point, since it looks like she’s capable of going back to a proper edge on her flip.

I think there was some ~discourse~ on twitter that her 3F edge is fine, so nerves specifically for a more difficult jump maybe? And it would take more focus than a 3F, so she might let it slip even though she knows the "right" way to do it. I need to see the recent 3Fs for myself, but yes, that's entirely possible.

Bolero sounds so different when it’s live orchestra. It doesn’t sound repetitive, it‘s … idk.. really draws you in from the first moments. I think because on ice we’re listening to the video recording of the audio recording of real Bolero it ruins the nuances of the music.

Generally both flips look better in terms of edge compared to last season. Having better edge on 3F for her probably is also more important than doing so on 4F. She needs to keep the deficit from SP as minimal as it can be. Quad flip even with an ! call will still bring her a ton of points.

^Yes, I agree. Just get that additional bit of focus where she can make sure she doesn't get a full 'e' call, at least, and she should be fine.

I think it can tend to have that effect, as live orchestra and recording are different media. Especially if you were watching the orchestra play. It's like most people I can think of, hated Milva's singing of Loco, and I disliked her voice, but a video of her singing for me is actually good, because it became an entire performance.

When it comes to PCS in a 5 quad program it can either go very well or very bad. I imagine as a judge, when you’re witnessing something so rare and extraordinary, a clean 5 quad program, the audience is roaring and it happens on a big stage, just out of pure excitement, you’ll give high PCS.
However, if you fall multiple times and have been falling all season long - the PCS will likely be quite low.

Just rewatched KV's bolero from Russian nationals. When skated clean the programme is watchable, but when there's a lot of falls from quads it gets very messy especially when she is off-beat.

I hope Valieva can bring a clean programme soon. I think they should take the 4S out. her 3A seems to be getting more consistent, if she can do 2 3As and 2 4Ts. Plus polishing the programme and working on getting it clean. I think sounds more reasonable. Too many ultra-c elements makes the programme look very messy as she's so focused on the jumps.

I agree with this but I also think you're missing the point in Kamila's case.
They are not trying to interpret Bolero as one would expect Bolero to be interpreted aka the standard and obvious interpretation that a let's say Kostner did. And did, for many people, as well as it could ever be done. So skaters would be strongly advised to avoid trying to go down that route cause they will only compare negatively to that iconic Olympic program.
They are, according to them, portraying a snake. A bunch of contortions, the costume etc. For Daniil the music apparantly seems to sound like some kind of oriental-passing piece and Kamila is a snake moving to it.
If one thinks that is a great idea or absolutely idiotic and an insult to Bolero is for everyone to decide for themselves.
But under that light, no need to be mature or a "woman" to skate to it and do it well.
The snake has some suggestive moves. At least in last year choreo. And a snake is usually a symbol of seduction. So i think that their idea isn't that far from most of interpretations.
But if indeed they take another route that's good(y)

If Cizeron was choreographing for singles i would send her to him.

Just rewatched Anna's FS and I really have to say: absolutely fantastic lines, beautiful rich movements which are finished fully from the torso all the way through to the fingertips (they're doing well putting those dark gloves on her hands to accentuate them), great posture and facial expressions. She truly looks amazing in her basic movements at this stage of her development.
I remember the flailing little 15yo girl with four toothpicks for limbs. She has come into her own beautifully and it's clear how much work she has put into every aspect of her skating over these past years. To me she is the most pleasing to watch at this point.

I totally agree, but Polina Edmunds doesn’t seem to 😂😂😂

She should go for 3 quads and 2 3As in FS once she’s ready. I think she’s capable of that. 🙏🏻
Valieva, Tuktamysheva, and Kostornaia to Finlandia... Going to be a slaughter. (Shcherbakova and Kromykh are substitutes)
Who’s gonna be slaughtered? 🤔

Does anyone know when the Russian Cup Stage I begins? Last year it was 18th of September so it should be soon...

Wow. Crazy. Shattered the women’s record for a free skate by about 33 points. 33!

Oh, and by the way, if you factor the PCS by 2.0, then it’s the 3rd best free skate score by anyone, male of female, in history. That’s unfathomable.

I think as the days goes by, it’s becoming more and more clearer what kind of history was made on Sunday.
History would be made if this was a competition, not something hardly more than a public training. Trusova is probably able to skate like this in training regularly. Competition is something completely different.
