Trusova is the driver behind the 5-quad program to the extent she listed Eteri attempting to limit her number of quads as a reason she left Eteri last year. Trusova is 17, an adult legally in some countries - if she is dead-set on going for the 5 quads in competition, her coaching team (any coaching team be it Raf, Plushenko, Orser or Eteri) would be irresponsible to not train her to accomplish it as she could injure herself in competition if she attempted to go for a layout she wasn't prepared to handle.
Shcherbakova said in 1 of her interviews after GP Italy she wanted to add the 4Lz to her FS since she was landing it in practice and her coaches argued against it as she hadn't been practicing her layouts with it at Crystal.
Well as the choreographer said, the girls are going to have to tell the coaches how much something is bothering them. They held her from training in the morning to help protect her and they left the decision on her whether to compete or not.
Nothing in Trusova's history indicates that Eteri had to force her to do that quad lutz, more likely she had to force her to only do the 1 quad lutz
Do you give Alysa's coaches this much hell? She's had hip surgeries before she ever turned senior internationally. Or let me guess, that's Eteri's fault because she coaches the 2 girls that pioneered quads being a 'norm' for ladies skaters and Alysa and her coach just had to train those elements. Nathan Chen whose Olympic spot is guaranteed barring injury went to Skate America and Skate Canada with an injury, and he did not lessen his difficulty due to the injury.
I'm not, nor did I in my original post infer that Eteri is some kind of angel, but I also don't think she's the evilest coach to walk this planet.
